Excellent pub, friendly welcome from all the staff. Their knowledge of the local area was fantastic and we were delighted to find such a fabulous watering hole after a beautiful meander through some of this area’s ancient industrial past. One special attraction was the book area where you could pick up a book by the fire and relax. We would definitely recommend and will visit again when in the area. Friends from Cardiff - look forward to seeing you again!
Lovely local pub with welcoming friendly and very helpful staff. I chose it as a dog friendly pub with food as I'm camping nearby. The homemade pie was delicious! The local gents were in as football was on but as a single female I didn't feel intimidated at all. They were indeed gentlemen. Recommend it to anyone who wants good food with the locals.
This is one of those special, secret places the locals don't tell you about. Ignore the main menu. Pick a delicious pie from the specials board. I had a steak pie filled with rich gravey and a perfectly-poured pint of cider on a quiet Sunday. At least four or five amazingly good and varied vegetarian options; my wife had a three-cheese, potato and mushroom pie served with peas and a generous portion of well-prepared, "proper" chips.
Great pint of Worthington, only myself in bar.Could be different over weekend .
Lovely dog friendly pub staff were lovely and accommodating had steak pie and chips which was very nice even tho we were outside the normal menu times the landlord sorted 2 lovely meals for us nice end to a birthday day would go back again
Stopped off for a much needed drink on a very hot day, nice patio out back. Staff friendly and helpful, will be returning to this place next time we are in the area
It has a great communal and welcoming feeling, I only ate there but the food was reasonably priced and tasted great! it's a lovely, welcoming and warm pub to visit and everybody is very friendly.
Lovely welcome and landlady was really nice and so accommodating. Food ok, but barmaid over charged is all and floors stcicky.
Great place to get a taste of the Welsh hospitality. Local community grabs a bite there. Had a very enjoyable evening due to the warm conversation with the locals and great food.
Great service, lovely atmosphere and top notch home cooked food I enjoyed a cracking Balmoral pie!. Just what you need after a hard days riding at the Bike Park!
