Brilliant pub & restaurant, local to Radlett and Watford. This cute pub is located down the lanes from the Round Bush area. I had been here many years ago and the ambience and friendliness was still there but even better. It has a traditional pub feel but excellent restaurant quality food. My Partner had the Fish & Chips, he's from New Zealand and he said that the fish and chips were the best he'd tasted since he'd been in the UK! I had the bangers and mash, which were delicious. We shared a crumble for desert and that too was superb. The staff were very friendly, even recommending similar wines to that which we'd chosen, so we could try that next time we came in, which of course we will be doing! Dog friendly in the snug book accordingly and plenty of covered outdoor tables, for taking the dog or kids in the summer. Plenty of parking, good car park. Just a footnote, there are two pubs very close together in the same area starting with "The Three.....", there's this one and there's The Three Horseshoes. Both very good, but just be mindful that you're booking and turning up at the right one Lol!
Great meal - good wine and beer selection. I would pass on the “pate” it’s really just liverwurst. Otherwise the meat pie was delicious and my friend had Nutella donuts that I tried and enjoyed as well. A good place for great food, even if the location is a bit out of the way and in the suburbs.
Lovely gastropub a little off the beaten track. Food prepared with flair and great presentation.
We had an excellent dinner at The Three Compasses early in in the week. The staff were excellent - being attentive at all the right times: quite an art! I spent quite a few hours there celebrating with some colleagues. We started on nibbles and ended with tasty dessert: each course was generous, tasty and cooked to perfection. Thank you to the team there. It was not my first time, and it certainly won’t be the last!

First time I'd been here for a couple of years and booked for the lunchtime sunday roast. We first chose the foccia bread with cheese as a starter which was pleasant enough, but once you'd eaten the cheese grated on top which there wasn't much of, it was very very dry. It could have done with a tomato dip to accompany it really. The halloumi starter with the spicy sauce was a much better choice For mains we both had the roast beef which was £19 per head so I was expecting a bit of 'wow' but it wasn't really there. It was all nicely presented and hot, but it just lacked extra flavour whether in the gravy or the roast potatoes. Could have also been a bit more generous with the beef I had 3 slices. Bit of a shame. I had the lemon cheesecake for dessert which was beautifully presented and tasted lovely. My friend had the crumble, but the apple and fig combination was so sweet and I have a very sweet tooth! with the icing sugar coating, one spoonful was enough. Staff were attentive and helpful and they have good COVID procedures and signage in place.
Always busy here, so booking is a must. Lovely food £££. The staff were only too pleased to help and found us a table with no waiting time at 3pm on a Sunday. They ran out of roasts but half expected it as we didn't book.
We held my mother in law’s wake at the pub yesterday 17th January. It was 10/10 . The food was superb, the service was perfect. They went over and above for everyone. The staff were amazing and looked after everyone
My husband treated us to a collection-only roast dinner from here for Mother's Day. He simply collected the food from the bar at an allotted time, and felt the service was good. The food itself was very flavoursome and the portion size was generous. I had chicken, which was succulent, and my husband had rare beef, which he said was delicious. We would definitely visit here for lunch in future when pubs are able to reopen.
Real food and kind staff. This is a restaurant kind pub, within a well kept house, decorated with good taste in accordance with the expert opinion. The food was great: Fresh pasta with ricotta and spinachs, and baked salmon. Also the Italian kind desert panna cotta with coffee ice cream.
