Great value carvery which is of good quality with a wide choice of vegetables and sides to choose from. Drinks also good value. Ample parking.
Walked in there was about 2 or 3 people so quiet. The staff were lovely and kind although myself I ordered the carvery and was offered to have it right away or wait for my partner to get there meal. I stated that I would have it right away only to be told that I had to wait as the carvery guy was in the back "chillin'". So we were told to sit at any table so we sat at the window where there was food on the seats from previous customers and to be honest didn't look clean anywhere, rubbish under the chairs. We thought cant be that bad... but then we were attacked by a few flies that wouldn't leave us alone. Finally able to get a carvery and the roast potatoes tasted like cardboard with salt, the Turkey was ice cold, the boiled potatoes tasted old and the Yorkshire pudding was stale. They didn't even have mash on offer. Although my partner enjoyed the meal and got a hunters chicken... wish I got the same... the coke was also flat that I had gotten, the only reason I have given 2 stars is because the staff were nice. But to be honest wouldn't eat here again.
Booked a table for fathers day and I have to say the carvery was amazing..! Variety was fantastic.. constantly bringing out fresh veg. 4 choices of meat all were delicious. Staff we all friendly and helpful. Will definitely return
I'm from Hull and we was back home from Manchester so instead eating on service we picked this pub for stop and eat something . This is the best picked I have ever had! Food has been served within minutes and was absolutely delicious!!! Such as lovely rump steak grilled with perfect chips!!! The lady who was cooking food for me she's a star! Even my wife she's is very picky on food and never fancy rump steak but she was nearly licking plate after this one. Only one down side that the young boy who is a waiter he's arrogant without any smile and ever talk. They could hire robot and will be more polite and smile. Absolutely recommended even with this waiter. Thanks
been here many times and the food has always been good,and today was no exception.The food was as good as usual but unfortunately the service let the whole experience down. The cutlery was just dumped on the table without so much as a word from the waitress,then while still half way through our starters the main meals were brought out to the table,where they sat going cold while we finished our starter. the waitress did offer to take the starter away even though we were obviously nowhere near finished. Once again, cant complain about the food but the service could do with some attention
Fantastic pub. Great food. Lovely staff. Great drinks. We had a 3 course meal for £12.50 each. A of bitter shandy and a g&t. Food was piping hot and served by a courteous staff member. Lovely atmosphere and looks like kids are made to feel very welcome. A fab family pub!
Not been here for years so Came here today for tea. Place hasent changed one bit! Pub is very kid friendly, kids meals were great value, there were toys lying around for them to play with and even 2 parrots in there! We was served quickly an the Food and price are average for the area. Ordered a strongbow dark fruit and a pint of coke and both tasted flat.
We visyed here on a Sunday and as well as the lovely looking carvery their menu was varied as well. I was surprised to see liver and onions on the menu and as I love it but don't make it often as I'm the only one in house that likes it ,i thought I'd give it a try ,so with creamy garlic mushrooms to start, hub had black pudding that was delicious I eagerly awaited my liver and onions and was more than pleasantly surprised very tasty,the chips were a bit of a let down as they were obviously thick oven chips which I'm not a fan of. The service was great and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The overall look of the place was a bit shabby and could do with decorating but it was clean . Yhe price was very reasonable and overall a very pleasant Sunday lunch
Had a carvery here recently with the family, although the place is a little dated inside, the food was very good. The carvery is available in a standard or large size. I ordered the large size and it was, very large, i think the standard size is more than adequate for most adults unless you have a very good appetite.
The was our first visit and we all had the Sunday lunch. Unfortunately the meals were very disappointing; the portions were brilliant but the actual food was tasteless and the meat seemed raw. The staff were very understanding and offered a partial refund.
