I hired a private room for a family function to celebrate a birthday. The room was well laid out and provided a warm and intimate setting. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco although some of us sneaked in a pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord beforehand. The member of staff who looked after us for the evening was incredibly hard working and ensured that every request was met quickly. The choice of menu was good as was the wine. Some of our guests stayed overnight and they tell me the rooms were of a very good standard and reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed the family celebration and we were very pleased to have chosen the 3 Acres.
What a fantastic venue this is with such warm and helpful staff!! My daughters wedding took place this weekend and I felt compelled to leave a review. Both the bridal suite and bedrooms in general were large, comfortable and well equipped. The wedding took place at the venue and went smoothly with any help required from the staff, given with a smile. Both the wedding meal, buffet and breakfast were really goo quality, tasty and once again served with a smile! At £90.00 per night for a large double room with extra bed and including lovely yorkshire breakfast, I couldn't fault it. Both my daughter and my new son in law had the time of there lives and so did I! Thank you so much
We went for a meal for a birthday this evening and I can’t recommend the 3 acres enough. The service was amazing with many thanks to ellie we had recommendations on the menu and wine. Every meal served was 10/10. Would definitely come back again
Really nice BUT ! Be aware that they add on the tip for the waiters before giving you your bill, the tip added to our bill was £48 . We did have a great night but that was more down to the people on our table and would of had a great time anywhere. I find it offensive that a £48 tip was added and then I felt really awkward and just paid to save the embarrassment. For 2hours sat at a table with a bill adding to over £300 I think the tip should have been our choice and not imposed. I'd already got a £20 ready as a tip and felt like it spoilt my night when I had to put it back in my wallet because I'd already been charged more money than I can possibly make myself in the same two hours ! Nice place but not that nice for the prices Vegetarian options: Two choices per course
The table had been reserved with £50 deposit in advanced for the New years eve sampler menu. When arrived on time we were placed by the fire exit even though the restaurant was not full with plenty of empty tables with much nicer tables in the restaurant and asking to be moved further into the restaurant we were moved to the next table with the fire exit door at the back of us. The restaurant remained less than half full throughout our stay.I was originally told that it was to be a sampler menu.Having been to other notable restaurants on the Michelin guide and had a sampler menu we were surprised that it was a set menu with only two choice allowed for each category starter main and dessert.Having heard much about the standard of food at this establishment I expected to be surprised however felt somewhat underwhelmed and felt that the options available could have been quite easily made by Marks and Spencer meals. The chef amuse Boucher being a bland Mac and cheese!the starter beef and main course Halibut were good but small portions and the dessert literally reminded me of chocolate bomb that M@S did a few years back. This was followed by a cheese board and wafers which we then had to ask for more wafers since the biscuit between us was inadequate and portion were small.finally coffee with chocolates. Although the waitering staff were very polite and professional and I gave them the additional gratuity for new year I cannot say that I enjoyed the new Years eve meal.I would suggest that anybody who reads this review reserve caution if they seek book a meal for a special occasion in the future.
Very disappointing. After having serval fantastic meals here. We dined here on Friday evening and was served less than average food. Char Sui was soggy and stuck to the paper on the plate. Then Chateaubriand was inedible. Extremely burnt on the outside to the point we took it home for the dogs. Waste of money. Will not be returning
Not as good as I was expecting for a first visit , recommended . Thought food was good , but not 5 star , service was poor considering how many staff there was . Wasn't a great deal of food choice for Sunday dinner . Don't think I'll be back , maybe a week day meal in the summer mainly for the outstanding viewsFood: 4/5
Sadly, not a very good lunchtime experience. The kitchen was being refurbished but this didn't excuse poor service! Food arrive without wine and we had to remind staff that we'd ordered it. Chicken pie lacked flavour due to poor, watery gravy inside of the pie. We were asked if we wanted garden or mushy peas but we didn't realise that we would be charged an extra £15 for 4 small portions! We ordered 175 ml glasses of wine and when the bill arrived, we'd all been charged for 250ml glasses - this was rectified once we'd pointed out their mistake. Overall, we were very disappointed so we won't be returning any time soon!
We’ve been several times and each occasion has been as special. The warm and inviting atmosphere, the home cooked hearty food, the welcoming and friendly service all make it such a perfect restaurant for a special occasion. We went for our anniversary and enjoyed chateaubriand. We also had a gorgeous desert plate with ‘happy anniversary’ on which was noted by the waitress. Highly recommended!!
As soon as we walked in we felt welcomed and we got seated at our table quickly. The food was divine and probably a bit too much on the plates overall :. Great service overallFood: 5/5
