Shopping here was an absolute pleasure. Not only was the price of popular fiction attractive, but the members of staff were absolutely lovely. The person who assisted me was incredibly nice and had a great sense of humour. It was really nice to see such great customer interaction. They made customers feel welcome. If you are a lover of notebooks and other stationery items, then this is the ideal place to shop.
Asked for the prices of the bags, been told 1£ each . Perrie told me to choose one , then she charged me 2£ for the bag . Without telling me that was a 2£ bag not a 1£: I don’t appreciate being robbed. And Perrie , you should not work with the Public .
This is a fantastic shop. What I like is all the amazing products at great prices. The shop is always immaculate and well presented, staff are friendly and helpful. The manager is always smiling and welcoming. I won't use anywhere but here for stationery, gifts and books. I highly recommend.
Very unprofessional management where the manager and assistant manager gossip behind employees backs. They are very unprofessional with the way they communicate to their employees. The manager does not know how to take responsibility for her actions and I 100% believe the store will be made to close in <5 years. Merchandise is terrible. Often see sales assistants working their butts off, whereas management is nowhere to be found. Hopefully, new management will be at this store soon otherwise you might as well close it down now.
The prices are amazing. If you are at all into art, definitely go here. Plenty of items for any form of art and lots of different canvases. There is also an amazing book selection for all ages. The works card is amazing and really does help I save money. And amazing loyalty card for anyone who is likely to go there even once a month. It is also easy to find what you need due to a simple layout. Would definitely recommend.
Beautifully lay out store products are displayed very well and are easy to find. The staff are very helpful, polite and knowledgeable about what products they have in stock. Nothing is to much trouble for them will to help in any why that they can.
Average, nice layout, good range of products and services. Friendly but fairly resentful of having to work with the general public. Recommend a visit if you have a free afternoon and wish to have some interaction with staff who need more training in customer service. Would have given four stars but that would have been unfairt to the shops and stores in the area that tend to actually like their customers and people who potentially would buy something if exposed to a little more friendly persuasion and product knowledge.
I visited the store today and it was very clean and well presented . When I asked the staff about the products everyone was really friendly and knowledgeable. There was a nice vibe in the store .
Please note this review is for a visit about a year ago. The store was well stocked and I was pointed in the right direction to what I was after. Shame my positivity was soon obliterated by the manager/supervisor, at the point of sale desk, shouting rudely and completely out turn to 2 of the store assistants doing their best working on a display at the front of the store. This was very unprofessional and uncalled for and I am sure would put anybody off wanting to work for The Works. On paying for my purchase the manager/supervisor wasn't at all friendly. One * each for the 2 poor store assistants and one * for the store it self. If it wasn't for the bully would have been four-five stars.
Love this shop, as I'm a crafter. Only place in town that had snow flakes. Prices are reasonable. A lot of stock has been put in a small place. Staff are always happy and helpful.
