Nice bar with great potential but also has quite a few shortcomings. No music, service at the bar is very slow and often staff keeps asking what did you order a couple of times. It's also rather expensive. They do serve pizzas but then again some items are out of stock.Food: 4/5

We ordered 4 cocktails. We asked for sugar round the glasses of the margaritas and got salt. The negroni had no orange peel. They was no care taken when making them, one had more in it than the other . Very disappointing. We would have mentioned these things at the time but customer service behind the bar was poor. We wasted £36

Good pizza, not amazing, but enjoyable. Interesting beers available. Big space, we had a reservation and had plenty room. Think there reservation system could be improved, you request it and they confirm, but you cannot see availability immediately.
We booked for Sunday dinner having looked at the menu during the week and seeing that they have a vegan Sunday roast option we’ve also eaten vegan Sunday roast here previously many times. Unfortunately when we arrived there was no vegan option, only vegetarian. The online menu has not been updated. This was really disappointing. It seems a really strange decision to provide 1 vegetarian roast option when it could easily be made vegan and cater for both vegetarians and vegans. We ordered pizza instead and it was OK but we have had much better food here previously. The other people we ate with ordered roasts and the Yorkshire puddings didn’t arrive so we had to get up to ask about this. The person behind the bar was very helpful and understanding, despite being on his own clearly trying to do a lot of things at once, he sorted this out immediately and was great. Not sure if they were short staffed but seemed like there were not enough people working. It definitely felt as though things have slipped. It was also really cold and whilst I understand the vibe of the place is laid back and a bit rustic, some of the chairs are falling apart and are uncomfortable and need to be replaced. We’ve had great food here previously so hopefully it was just a blip. The menu needs updating online and it’s strange not to cater for vegans these days. To say we had to pay a £40 deposit to book the table I would have expected a higher standard of both food and service.

We were a group of weary Dads who stumbled into the The Woods late on a friday night for some final drinks, it was a great atmosphere even after 11pm. But best of all we were treated to exceptional service: drinks at the table almost as soon as we were seated, a couple of recommended shots, and ultimately a great end to the evening before we called it a day. Remy, who served us all night, was fantastic, she was professional, punctual but above all personal and it's this sort of service that will bring us back - assuming this is the standard The Woods set! Thanks Remy and the team! See you again!
