A lovely find. Love my afternoon/lunch spent here. Friendly and nice owner with super service, tranquil environment with a nice field for kids to run around. Food were great, especially the fish and chips. Environment is clean and well maintained. Please do visit if its on the way for your next destination. To the owner, thank you for a wonderful meal.
Had a private function there for the whole day into the evening with the whole team from the company. Absolutely beautiful location and really friendly and helpful owners and staff. Spent some time chatting with the owners who had some really interesting life stories. Food was good too. And of course, the absolutely lovable Great Dane!
As a visitor from North Carolina, USA, I thoroughly enjoyed Sunday Roast with my daughter and friend at the Windmill restaurant. The service was exceptional and once our order was taken, we were served within a short span of time, with friendliness and extreme hospitality. The food was fresh, well-prepared and very tasteful. It was the best experience I’ve had for a Sunday lunch and can personally recommend it without any doubt!
The views from this restaurant are second to none. The food exceeded our expectations, we had a 3 course lunch and each course was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and speedy, perhaps a little too efficient but I think it was due to the fact the restaurant was very quiet and the waiting staff may have been new and being trained and so a bit eager. All in all, would absolutely visit again.
Fantastic service and great views. Service was very quick and the food portions were more than adequate. Lovely relaxed feel. Could highly recommend
My friend and I arrived at midday 11th Dec 2021 and were invited to choose a table. We selected one by the window for the beautiful scenic views, despite the wet and grey weather. The waitress was very patient as we had been chatting and not decided what we would eat at first, so we ordered some drinks, which arrived in good time. After eventually choosing and ordering our food, we did not have long to wait before it was brought out to us. We both had the Ribeye Steak, with chips and mushrooms. It was all very hot and tasty. We chatted for a little while after finishing and subsequently decided to have a dessert of Bread & Butter Pudding with Creme Anglaise. It was delicious!! The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was well-priced and cooked nicely. We felt very relaxed at The Windmill and would definitely recommend to others
Good choice of menu, the food was well presented and tasty. Good service from the staff. Nothing not to like - recommended
We came here for a Sunday roast and were greeted by a lovely big dog at the door! The meat, potatoes, gravy and yorkshire puddings came out separate to the panache of vegetables and it all tasted very good. The waiters were very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately that's where the positives ended as the desserts were less impressive. The waffles tasted pre-bought as opposed to being freshly made and the general vibe was that they were overpriced for what they were £7.50 each!. I'd say if you wanted a Sunday roast it's a good place to visit with a nice view, but probably best to avoid the desserts and go somewhere else for that!
Visited the Windmill with my Mum on Easter Sunday. Staff were very professional and attentive. An excellent level of customer service. The location of the pub is situated such that if you have a table at the back of the pub, you can see the amazing views over the Oxfordshire countryside. The meal was lovely- I had the whitebait for starters and the roast leg of lamb for main. My Mum had the turkey crown. Both were with good portions of vegetables which you served yourself at the table. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone! 10!10
We dined in at The Windmill and Barry and his team were excellent hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. A great place to relax and enjoy the good food and surroundings. Thoroughly recommend.
