This is okay to visit for some food but not a place I would go to a lot. Unlike other Wetherspoon pubs I wouldn't rate this has a high contender. The service was good and quick. Hence the mid star rating The place felt dirty and worn. Food was not the greatest, the chilli on top of jacket potato was dry and looked and tasted old. The jacket potato was also over cooked. Some of the other items were okay. There was also no variety in menu has most things out of stock. My recommendation is that if in a pinch then come here otherwise I would choose an alternative location.
Spent two back to back occasions in the pub recently on 17/18th Feb with friends. One evening meal and then brunch the following day. Used the place as a stop gap before evening show at the Octagon on the Friday night. Enjoyed the food and drink both times and taken care of by the waiting service at table. On one occasion, when friend ordered food and drink to the wrong table number, waiter was good enough to keep the food heated whilst finding out it's rightful home....all good and tasty too.
My husband and I had a really nice meal in the pub today. Good value for money and plenty on your plate. Staff were very polite and friendly, a good atmosphere all around.
Enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff good value for money ,food lovely ,we had 3 items to share , yummy cheesey chips with bacon ,and pizza and spicy chicken wings , yummy would have that again
It's what it is. It is a fair price for what you get, but when your partner gets extras in her muffin hair, yes, we did get a replacement it seemed more of the chore than anything. We didn't get an apology tbh, but fair to say the next muffin was hairless.
15 of us on one table. Food was hot and good portion size. Staff very attentive, polite and friendly. Excellent!
Breakfast good .Picking up of plates etc quick Also menu extensive .portions good well cooked and placed well .waiter was very friendly .Could have had another bar worker as only 2 on bar and it was busy as it was a Saturday morning
A typical weatherspoons. Good food and great value. Food was served very quickly after ordering used the app. Pub was clean and welcoming
The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was hot and tasty and the refillable cuppa is brilliant especially at lunch time when you don't want an alcoholic beverage.
The food was good for a Wetherspoon, and the girls behind the jump were very nice and polite. Did everything to help tables were clean ,
