Lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Very quiet, only 2 tables occupied. Ordered the Lunch set for £12 for two courses. Ordered the tomato starter with the slow cooked hen main. Food was simple but very tasty. The broth that came with the slow cooked egg was a little salty for my palate, but then again that is just a personal preference. Staff attentive and helpful. Good view of the church and its gardens. Would recommend.

I am sure this restaurant can be good, I would have no argument with good reviews. Sadly though, on the night, they came up short. It started well, the staff were polite and attentive. It developed into a busy Saturday night and the service dropped off as they evening progressed, to the point it was 10 to 15 mins between visits to the table. The wine was just cold enough but the food was cool to cold. Plates went back. The bill arrived with no deductions until we suggested a discount was called for. Shame as the food looked good, and when hot, tasted fine.

Delicious food - like being on MasterChef! Excellent, friendly service. The at menu lunches are Browne value for money, just the right amount. Thank you

What a disappointment. We had been recommended the White Spoon by several people and unfortunately did not find here what we expected. Our waiter did not seem to know enough about food to resspobd to our questions and felt that giving us the "allergies menu" would avoid him having to explain what the meals included. The dishes were touch and go, sometimes beautifully balanced like the bouillabaise sometimes totally lacking in flavour as the pasta had not been seasonned, or the mushroom drenched in water to the poit that it took away from the beautifully prepared beef. The wine selection, however, was good in terms of quality vs price.
