Fantastic place run by a genuinely nice friendly bar manger Friendly locals good prices Would highly recommend this pub
Nice quiet evening 8-9pm Christmas Eve, then got busier later. Lovely atmosphere inside and good quality beer, fair pricing tooRooms: 5/5
A fantastic pub who were happy for us to join the locals to sit at the bar with our dogs and have a chat for an hour. Beer was on top-form too. A big thanks to Darren the landlord for the insider travel tips… Iv got your map for next time and thanks for the warm welcome.
We were on holiday, couldn't have gone to a better place. The landlord and staff were so friendly and so were the regulars, they welcomed our two dogs. I must say the food was great.
Really nice pub With a great beach in front!!
Me and my friends received a very warm welcome from the people running the bar. We would love to go back, and if we are ever nearby we will be sure to do so. Has a pool table and music making it a great night out. The owner Damian was great, recommending beers and whisky to drink. It was great to chat and get to know the people in the bar. I also really liked how the covid rules were followed in the bar, it made me feel much safer. I would highly recommend visiting this bar if you are in the area.
Had a brilliant night at the Inn with a few friends a couple of weeks ago. Great beer, fab location especially if you can catch the sunset and enjoyed tasting a few local spirits ask about the flumps one. A great spot right on the harbour with a real beach theme. We received a very warm welcome from everyone in the bar which we hadn't expected on a quiet Tuesday night. Would love to go back, and if we are ever nearby we will be sure to do so. To anyone reading the reviews about the landlord and/or covid, Damien was a fab host and I would encourage anyone who likes a good beer, relaxed atmosphere, and a good laugh to ignore the negative reviews here. The owner is doing what he can to keep his business going, and to keep himself, his staff and his customers safe. That might mean you have to respect his wishes at times even if you don't agree with them or if they are not written into law - no different to most establishments, even before the pandemic.
Cheap and nasty ingredients slopped up at Central London prices by minimum wage no marks who think they are doing you a favour. Be wary of their "Parking Permit" Scam or you will end up getting a £100 fine from the private "security" firm they are in bed with.
The best pub in Portreath. The owner was amazing. It was only him working. He had to deal with load of customers. He made sure customers were following the covid rules. Which I liked. He made us very welcome. Plus recommend old J pineapple rum which was very nice.
Visited Portreath whilst on holiday this week and fancied a beer. While the setting was pleasant enough and the beer was cold and refreshing, the information with regards to covid was inaccurate. We were told we HAD to use the track and trace app and EVERYWHERE should be telling us to use it now as it's a legal requirement. I got the impression that if we didn't use it we wouldn't get served. I understand that establishments would want to encourage their guests to use it as it's far less administrative for them but the fact is it's a requirement of the establishment to have it displayed but as a customer you can scan the QR code OR give personal details. It would be more useful and more understandable if they said we would like you to use the app to save us the time rather than try and tell us we HAVE to when that's not the case. Just be honest and upfront with your customers. That way they can chose if they want to drink at your pub.
