We came across this chipper as the queues at the world famous chipper along the road were too big! As it turned out the service we got was excellent with people around saying the Waterfront chipper was better. We felt they were probably correct. The prices also seemed lower. I would go back there straight away rather than looking at the famous fish bar first.

Called in for chips on Saturday evening..... Absolutely fantastic chips, not greasy at all. Breaded fish had so much flavour and fluffy light breaded coating. Without question, the best chip shop I've been to in a long time! Fantastic staff and very clean shop.

This little chippie is good enough to tempt me to drive to it from my home in St Andrews. The quality never varies in my experience but I avoid school lunch break for obvious reasons. Better value in every way over the big name one along the street which is also pretty good IF you enjoy waiting in extended queues out the door and along the street. Locals use the Waterfront _ need more be said? Its associated restaurant is similarly good with a very traditional style and quality meals. Not too highly priced either, which is always a welcome feature. I should add that I have no association with these businesses except by being a regular and satisfied customer.

Perfectly nice chip shop. All the main items are excellent compared to any other, but the chips are the weak element, often underdone and utilizing a rather floury tasting potato that could be mistaken for past its prime. If they could just improve their chips they would easily be the best in Anstruther.
