The Warehouse is a legendary Leeds nightclub founded in 1979
More than thirty years after first opening back in 1979, legendary Leeds music venue The Warehouse returns with an astonishing new look, sound and feel. This is the place that started it all, opening up even before the Hacienda. From the late 70’s, The Warehouse introduced a whole new culture and became the epicentre of music and clubbing in the North of England.
Of course, high on the agenda for the new owners has been the technology behind the light and sound systems to provide a venue that is simply untouchable in Leeds. Brand new Funktion One Dance Stacks tower above the dancefloor as well mind blowing lighting rigs, colour lasers and CO2 jets. Elsewhere, the venue has been remodelled throughout with a new layout, new chillout areas, state of the art DJ equipment, new dance levels, new bars, new toilets and new air conditioning. Upstairs in the Loft the walls have been blasted back to expose the brick and huge wooden beams, fireplaces and sash windows have been revealed to create a sumptuous second room.
Since opening a year ago The Warehouse has had everyone from Claud Von Stroke, Grandmaster Flash, Calvin Harris, Lee Foss, Art Department, Frankie Knuckles, Kerri Chandler, Derrick Carter, Louie Vega, Redlight, Maya Jane Coles, AN21 & Max Vangeli and Stacey Pullen to name just a few.
The Warehouse has now become the underground venue of choice within the city having recently undergone an amazing refurb. The venue is steeped in history with everyone from The Stone Roses, Sasha, Oasis, LFO, Aphex Twin and Sugar Hill Gang having played at the venue back in the day. It's also the venue which inspired LFO to make the seminal LFO - The Leeds Warehouse Mix which shows how important this venue has been to electronic music in the city.
Since the venue re opened it has had an amazing first year and things are just going to get better as they have Basement Jaxx, Soul Clap, Jimmy Edgar, Louie Vega, Jack Beats, Kenny Dope, Machinedrum, Doctor P, Untold, Cookie Monsta, Bar9, James Zabiela, AN21 & Max Vangeli, Pete Tong, Francois K, Blond:Ish, Todd Edwards, Emalkay, Todd Terry, Eliphino, Xxxy, Appleblim, Ms Dynamite, and Objekt all lined in the next few months.
