This secret treasure restaurant is my favorite in Bearwood. the whole restaurant setting with historic decoration and the large green color that can be seen by the window, these are all reasons why I love here. Tried for afternoon tea and Sunday roast beef, both were good, wish there were more options in the menu.
Extremely disappointed in our afternoon tea for six. £138.00 £23.00 per person Two stands. Bread so thick we could not taste the filling. Turkey. Tuna. Ham and cheese Shop bought mince pies and cakes. Scones were home made Jam and cream served in tea cups! Take a look at what was provided for £138.00 and judge for yourself. We will never return and would not recommend UPDATE: AS REQUESTED I VISITED IN PERSON TO DISCUSS MY REVIEW AND OF COURSE TO RECEIVE THE VERY EXCITING COMPENSATION OFFERED. ONE SLICE OF CAKE. THIS WAS DECLINED .....AS IT WAS AN INSULTING GESTURE. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE WASTING YOUR MONEY IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT.
My son and I visited Jonathan's yesterday afternoon. We ordered Victorian seasoned chips which were very tasty and traditional soft drinks. I had heard that service was slow but we had no problems. The staff were pleasant and helpful. It was very warm that day so we chose to sit outside. Unfortunately only one of the tables, which were red hot, had any shade in the form of a parasol. Dietary restrictions: We would have liked some gluten-free options as my son is gluten-intolerant but there were none available apart from chips and crisps.
Stunning place, fab stuff and amazing food. Best eggs bendict I've had and then a lush scone, the cream is always 1st then the jam
Neat and well maintained cafeteria. Food served hot and staff super polite and cheerful. Good for family reunion, family get together, catch up meeting over coffee and every other things in between. Plus well aerated and regulated temperature to give you that sense of home feeling.
Lovely venue and pleasant staff. Had afternoon tea and no huge problem, they bought ham Sandwiches when a vegan and veggie tea was booked but altered it pretty quick. Biggest issue was that the vegan tea was very sparse compared to the veggie, but still charged at the same price. A bit disappointing but didnt want to make a fuss.
Birthday afternoon tea. Cold tea. Dry macaroons no slices of cake. Not as good as other places. Miserable waitress. Party of six seated at a table for four. Squashed and bumping into table behind DO NOT recommend Basic toilets Not value for money
With my first mouthful I was transported, eyes closed, somewhere so comforting and delicious I cannot describe. I ordered the mushroom omelette which came with chunky Victorian chips and colcannon. I loved it. The omelette was cooked to perfection fluffy juicy and oh so buttery, and the colcannon was fresh yet comforting. Everything you expect from a quality English eatery, service was spot on too. I left Johnathan’s feeling uplifted and very content. Compliments to the chef.
We received a warm welcome and friendly service. Best Sunday lunch I can remember. Pity it's closing down at the end of the month, hope to see the staff at The Roundhouse, Sheepcote Street, Bham which I understand is connected.
Ordered a take out breakfast, had to wait a long time when it did come out it was wrong and I had to wait for it to be rectified. This resulted in the other items being cold. The interior is fantastic and I imagine sitting in would be a different experience.
