Got a late booking here recently for a party of 4. Food was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken wing with beef for starter. Very rich, hearty dish. The standout for the starters was the pate with beetroot jam. For the main I chose the beef wellington as a friend is somewhat of a wellington aficionado. It didn't disappoint. My partner had the cod which received no complaints. Wine list was a little short but we chose a delicious bottle which hit the spot. It was not overly busy on the night but service was still very good. We were never rushed and plates were cleared appropriately. Price was very reasonable. Another bonus is the restaurant is right next door to arguably the best pint of Guinness in Dublin. Mulligan's Overall we were very impressed and will definitely be back.
Such a little gem. Made a reservation and it did not disappoint. They seat exactly for the time, so no need to arrive early. The meal is so delicious and well thought out and full of flavour. Lots of locals frequent this sweet little spot and the restaurant is vibrant with amazing energy. 10/10 would recommend.Recommended dishesCajun Seafood Chowder, Braised Lamb
Thus far, my favourite dining experience in Ireland in 3 years. The ambience was perfect, the staff ridiculously attentive without being overbearing, and the food simply SCRUMPTIOUS! The flavours were all so powerful but perfectly balanced. They didn't make a single misstep so I couldn't imagine giving them anything less than 5 stars.
We went on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. The menu is relatively small, but there is a lot of variety in the dishes, I started with a duck liver creme which was delicious, followed by steak wrapped in a pasty, almost like an individual Beef Wellington, which came with some mini hash browns - a really unusual and great touch. Wine list was good, but should really be extended now it is no longer BYOB. Overall excellent and highly recommended.
Made reservations for my SO’s birthday during our visit to Dublin. The place opened up at 6pm and filled up pretty quick. You have the option to do the 2 course meal or the 3 course meal with dessert. By the end of this meal, I was so stuffed I couldn’t do dessert. I got the seafood chowder as my starter and I have to say it was absolutely amazing. My second course was the beef fillet, which I enjoyed but I was still thinking about that seafood chowder. My SO got the lamb shank as his entree and said it was super good. Would highly recommend this place. Staff was also kind and welcoming.
This was place is quite the gem! I highly Recommend making a reservation. Everything from the decor, the staff, the surrounding, and especially the food were excellent. If I can make any recommendations, the prawn risotto to start, followed by the lamb, and then the mango dessert were all divine. There pre-dinner drinks are quite refreshing as well. If in Dublin for the first time, this is quite the treat to satisfy your palate.
All the dishes we tried were wonderful. Make sure you are hungry because the portions are huge! The beef and the chowder were some of our favorites. Make sure to book in advance, the place is very small, but it is worth it.
We were lucky enough to get a table here at short notice. Staff were very attentive. There is lots of interesting artwork to look at as well as being able to see into the kitchen. Although the space is small you don’t feel like you are being squashed by the next table. The warm brioche roll and duck butter was delicious, we enjoyed our starters and the surf and turf was excellent - there was plenty of fish and the meat was cooked perfectly. We had the mango dessert and the cheese to finish, both were ok. Maybe we were just too full at that stage!
Very small and unassuming restaurant but the food is amazing. Very hearty and soulful, perfect for autumn when we went. €40/pp is unbelievable value for the quality you get. Highly recommend! Booking in advance is a must.
The seafood chowder was very tasty. A big portion for a starter. I couldn’t manage a main course after that. My partner had the duck and it was tender and had barely any fat on it. The accompanied gravy went along well with the duck and potatoes. The staff was attentive despite being very busy. Reservation is needed as the place is quite small and very popular it seems. I would go back for more chowder, should I return to Dublin one day.
