Great little cafe. Not too expensive, with very tasty fresh vegetarian food. Bean burger especially good!

Food is fantastic. Everything is delicious and wholesome and they've got lovely staff. I'd highly recommend going. The downside is the cafe is quite small, and although the cutlery and dishes are compostable, I'd personally prefer real, reusable crockery and cutlery. I can understand why this is though as I've been told the place cannot fit a dishwasher due to its size. I'd like to think that once more people know about this gem, the Veg Box Cafe could find bigger premises in the city centre.

Wanted to love this place but unfortunately my mum got horredously ill from the food, and took quite some time to feel 100% again. This was well over a year ago and she never eats salad now because of it, when it used to be one of her favourite foods. We know it was there as she ate all the same food as my dad the two days prior and he was fine, and she is pretty meticulous about hygiene as it is part of her job. They denied all possibility it could come from their establishment because they didn't receive any other complaints; for the most part people don't complain when they get ill from food and we are 100% it didn't come from anywhere else. They also said 'food poisoining symptoms normally only appear after one to two days' which is simply not true, she was violently sick starting around 12 hours after she ate the food - this is not an uncommon timeframe and demonstrates a lack of knowledge. Whether you like it or not nowhere is immune to bacteria.
