Popped in for some lunch with my son, food here is absolutely spot on. Well cooked, great portion size and a good choice. Price are good. I went for the mixed grill, steak cooked how I asked, proper home made chips, son had veggie sausage and mash, which came with 4 sausage! I will definitely be visiting again.

Came here with a member of family who's just moved to the area, great traditional pub with freshly cooked food and amazing homemade chips.  They have a good selection of beers/ciders and a good few cask options.  Welcoming and friendly staff, good atmosphere and great value for money only wish I lived round the corner too!

This is what I call a proper pub staff are friendly and can't do enough for you the food is fantastic and the drinks. Are reasonably priced p.s proper chips not cheap frozen ones highly recommend.

Just been to pensioners Christmas party.All 4 courses were delishous & home cooked.Great service & good entertainment....All for £5....Well done to all staff.See you next week.

Friendly "local", good food at a very reasonable price, well kept bar with beer garden, various events held throughout the year beer festival /live music etc

The food at the Union is really very tasty and home cooked went there today with my partner for her 40th Birthday and we enjoyed every minute of it as I said brilliant food very good service really jolly and helpful staff plus good choice of drinks we would highly recommend that if anyone hasn't been there give it a go you will not be disappointed ho forgot to say a very good menu with lots to choose from

Great food, was part of a large group who arrived early so clashed with another pre-booked.  Not an issue though all the food orders where dealt with without issues and quality and service was excellent

Great atmosphere,  friendly staff and excellent food..

Poor. The beer wasn't very good and not much choice, the service was slow. How has this place been awarded pub of the year by SW Lancs CAMRA? It was Monday evening 29th around 9-10 pm. there was speedway on the tv.
