First visit for us two geordie girls. Great food, even small portions were too big for us. Helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely come back for second helpings if I am in Wakefield again.

although the pub is in need of redecorating  the food is first class and value for money all home cooked nothing frozen all fresh

On past visits the food has been beautiful on a recent visit this is now not the case and it seams to have become a youth club won't be going back until we hear of it improving

We just had New Year's Day lunch at the Unicorn - we don't live in the area but visit each year and always pop into the Unicorn for lunch. There's always good food and a warm welcome. They just use their normal menu on New Year's Day with special sizzle dishes and it's perfect, my lasagne was some of best I've ever had and my husband was delighted with his giant Yorkshire pud with liver, onions and veg. It's excellently cooked and "Aunty Jean's cheesecake" is deliciously dangerous! Thankyou to everyone for another lovely lunch.
