#Ad #Gifted What a great visit and thank you so much for inviting us! Sizzling sound was really so tempting hahaThis place is recently refurbished and the vibes was definitely lovely, esp for families with kids and friends hanging around for drinks! What we ordered: New Chuck Wagon Caribbean-style Jerk Chicken Skewers Cadbury Lovers’ Sundae V OMGGG*V* The skewers was AWESOME! The chicken was really juicy and tender, plus there were lots of veggie as well! A very balanced mealThe New Chuck Wagon featured sirloin steak topped with Monterey Jack cheese, bacon and onion rings. It was reallly big chuck with lots of favours! Definitely loving the SundaeBest dessert for summer time with wafer as well haha Highly recommending for families to visit as they have wide range of menu, even one dedicated for kids as well!
Went for Christmas day lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The table was dressed beautifully, the staff were attentive but not overpowering. The food was lovely and cooked perfectly. The service was set at our pace not when the kitchen was ready. All in all it was one of the most relaxing Christmas dinners I've had in over 30yrs. Thankyou to Kris and his staff for a fabulous Christmas dinner
Absolutely fantastic meal. There we’re 8 of us and every dish was perfectly cooked.Lovely chap serving food.Chef is a brilliant cook.
Have only been here twice but will definitely come again. I liked the atmosphere and the food was lovely. Thanks especially to Madison who was very helpful as one of my friends is very hard to please when it comes to ordering food. Thanks again and will definitely be back
We recently booked a birthday meal for a lady we support with learning difficulties. The turnpike manager Kris accommodated a booking of 25 & was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so welcoming to all of our guys & worked so hard to make sure the meal ran smoothly and was a success! We couldn’t recommend the turnpike enough
A well-used city pub with a mostly localised patronage. In good condition and upkeep for establishments like this and well attended on this weekday lunchtime. The establishment is on the Cask Marque Ale Trail and I'm here for the beer only - although I see plenty of meal orders slowly going through. I have seen happier looking front of house staff The Ale is Doombar, Doombar and a Black Sheep product called Blitzen 4%abv - that I fancied, but was off. I settled for a bottle of Atlantic 4.5%abv - Sharps Brewery. Ok Lots of well set outside seating when the weather behaves, where one can be amused watching the traffic misbehave while having a leisurely drink. Limited parking for the non local, but off street available around-abouts with a short walk.
A friend suggested the turnpike as they had a good experience. The steak was dry and cooked right through, despite ordering medium a miss judgment by the chef, apart from that the food was OK. The doombar pale ale was good, plenty of reserved tables it is obviously popular, my partner loved her meal which was good. There are too many fried onions with the meal along with onion rings as well. If you tend to suffer from IBS, ask for no fried onions, the rings were enough. Price point good. Service was good . Parking: With the obvious amount of reserved tables parking could be difficult we dined at 17.30 there were still a few places
Went to the turnpike for birthday drink with my family. Ordered food which was amazing And the staff were all really friendly and an accommodating. Would highly recommend for great value for money and lovely family place to eat. Will definitely be returning Parking: Good parking Dietary restrictions: Good vegan options
Booked a table for two for "Dinner." Upon arrival, we went to the bar and told them we have a booking. When shown where we were sitting, it was a small table, with a broken chair, squeezed between two big tables at the bar. We asked if we could move to an area away from the bar but was told they were all booked. Within a couple minutes of sitting, we walked out as we were made uncomfortable as no one around us was eating and were only there for drinks. Surely, if you've booked for dinner, you should be put in a dedicated food area, not just in front of the bar. I'm very disappointed as I quite enjoyed eating here but after my experience I will never return. If you think about dining here. STAY AWAY!!
Thank you so much. You have really turned the pub around. Fantastic meal.lovely friendly staff and the atmosphere and decor are brilliant, Keep up the good work Kid-friendliness: Will love to bring the small kids back Parking: Fantastic big space for disabled Wheelchair accessibility: On one level Dietary restrictions: We where asked about if anyone had allergies ect
