Decided to try here for the first time in years tonight with my Mum. Firstly, the pub was warm, friendly and well done out! The staff were extremely helpful and polite. I ordered the chicken and leek pie with chips. The pie was so rock hard, if I’d dropped it on the plate, the plate would have broke. There was 1 piece of chicken in it with frozen veg so really not impressed with my meal. My Mum ordered chicken, bacon and avocado salad which she really enjoyed but there was no avocado on it! My kids really enjoyed their meals and finished the plate. I can’t fault the service or the drinks but the food is way overpriced for what it is and mine was inedible. I’ll be back for drinks but not for food.
One of the best places to relax, eat and enjoy the company. Staff polite and on the ball. Turners is clean and the decor is kept in a oldie worldy style with a good splash of modern thrown in. L Ove it. 4 stars because not a beer mat in site, don't need a wet table, so guys . . Get some in !
Great experience and wonderful support for gluten sufferers. I asked the lady behind the bar about their allergens and she was instantly aware of dishes and cross contamination, offering an app for better viewing it's called glass onion and suggested a range of dishes. The gentleman that took my order was just as good, making sure to get the right dishes and even confirmed coming processes. They made me feel so confident in my god choices I got the gluten free option of hunters chicken, and the chips are also gluten free and they were fab. It came with a very powerful but lovely BBQ source on the side, and a latte that they added little smarties to which I thought was sweet. My partner got the ultimate burger which was huge, very filling, and tasty, that also came with onion rings which sounded so crunchy. The atmosphere in there is great. The tables are nicely spaced out, the lighting is mellow but not dingy, and the decor is classically fresh. They even have a big dining area which looks like it could fit a nice party of people, with wonderful outside seating. Will definitely be going back
We visited Turners Mill for the first time having it recommended by someone who lives locally. We found it to be spacious and clean with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We both ordered two courses from the fixed menu and were both delighted with the quality of food and service we received. The fixed menu prices were very reasonable and offered extremely good value for money for the quality of the food we were served. It was an enjoyable experience and we will definitely be returning for another visit when we are in the area next.
To be fair they were short staffed. We both had prawn cocktail which was really nice. My husband had cheese and bacon burger, nicely presented. I was disappointed with my lasagne. I think it had been zapped too long in the microwave. Hard all round the edges. I wanted to have fish but none of it was available. The staff were nice and friendly. But don't think we will be going back anytime soon
Nice atmosphere. Steaks were unavailable so we had a straightforward single burger and the beef and Guinness pie. The latter was chiefly pastry and pretty hard going. Would give the place another go but check about steaks beforehand.
Good place to drink but not great to eat. Went on a Sunday, had no beef. My husband ordered the turkey instead. It said it came with parsnips and stuffing. There was neither. Told the waitress and she said 'I can give you a Yorkshire pudding but the kitchen is closing soon.' The quality of the food was very poor and lots of items missing from the menu.
Yesterday, myself and 4 others ordered a takeaway Sunday lunch. The price was £9.50. For that we got a small portion of frozen veg, small portion of meat, small portion of roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. No mash, poor variety of veg, no stuffing or pigs in blankets. The meal was a child sized portion worth £4.95 at most and that’s me being generous. We normally always order takeaway Sunday lunch from the park hotel 100% recommend they’re incredible, little bit cheaper and the portions/variety/quality are amazing but sadly they wasn’t doing takeout that day so we tried turners mill. Will not be returning unfortunately and definitely do not recommend. Literally the worse Sunday dinner We’ve had.
Been a regular for a good few years now, so about time I left a review Always a pleasure to visit, whether that’s for food or drinks, or both! Staff and owners very friendly and welcoming, place is always clean and well kept, a pleasure to have such a good pub on my doorstep. Keep up the good work! Ben, Jessie and family
Staff were lovely and the food was gorgeous I will be back xxx
