Went here for a 'ghost hunt' with some friends - which was truly, utterly awful! The museum itself is very small but with some interesting things inside. Probably wouldn't take more than 20 minutes to get round, if you read everything in detail!
Had a great morning out with family and our new puppy. The man at the till was extremely helpful and even recommended other dog friendly shops/venues in the area. He also gave a lot of information on the museum and seeing we had a puppy informed us there were no other dogs in the exhibition and our ticket was valid all day if we needed to take her outside. The exhibits in the museum were very interesting if a little gruesome. One display tests memory of an evidence file. We spent the rest of the day testing each other on what objects were in it. Lots of fun over lunch.
We loved it. Being a massive true crime enthusiast id been wanting to visit for years and finally got my chance. Exhibits were amazing with items i thought id never be privileged to see.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Loved this place, very interesting and a very dark atmosphere due to the items there. Also dog friendly. Highly reccomend
Nice displays but not very large, we finished in 45 minutes and at £9.50 each it didn't feel like value but we enjoyed the exhibitions.
Knowing that we were going to be in the Hastings area, we watched a ghost Hunt program that featured the museum. It looked great and a fascinating place to visit. Spooky things aside the museum is quite small, but the use of space is really good. There is plenty to see read and watch as you explore 4 or 5 main rooms. The fact that much of it is in the tunneled out into rocks builds a unique atmosphere, feeling good and heavy which is perfect for the subject matter on display. There are some unique artifacts and displays that bring some notorious crimes to life. It is not all the well documented crimes either, there are local stories and a Hastings link to Jack the Ripper that was fascinating and plausible. The Crime Lab was fun for my older children, and some great historical equipment used by the police in days gone. With many items actually coming from various forces museums that are not generally open to the public. There is a small gift shop where staff are friendly and happy to chat. It was a good couple of hours, you could get more out of it if you are super into the grim cases of in our history and read everything. My 11 year old was bored by this time and my wife and I were truly creeped out. My teen son and daughter loved it, and continue to read the guidebook, a resident now on the coffee table, now our break is over and we are home. Great for adults and older families.
It's somewhere I have wanted to visit for a while and I'm glad I did. I took my almost 12 year old granddaughter with me and she enjoyed it too. There are quite a lot of displays, there, a running TV with interviews with killers and things you can interact with. I would recommend a visit. It is also disable friendly, I saw someone there in a mobility scooter who seemed to be getting around fine.
We had a great time here! My partner and I are both true crime fanatics and this museum had some great information about a whole range of different cases. We definitely learnt some new stuff and we loved the interactive parts of the crime lab! For anyone with younger people or those who get a bit anxious, there was nothing too scary although expect a lot of dark themes. The staff were so lovely and it was very reasonably priced.
Went here for my daughters birthday. The staff were fab. Can't fault them made her day really special. Strongly recommend going to this place it's awesome
This museum was super cool! I really recommend this to any true crime lovers out there : I visited on a weekday in the morning and there was no wait. The staff was super lovely and I enjoyed asking questions about the place,its history and paranormal activities. The museum roughly takes an hour to walk around and it is filled with creepy yet really cool displays and real items from serial killers and many more criminals. I found the story of the museum and the stories of the criminals within it really interesting. I strongly recommend this place if you drop by in Hastings,this is a one of a kind place,its twisted yet facisnating. P.S. the souvenirs are very well priced,get a bunch for yourself,family and friends ;
