The Tickled Trout in Bearsden is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character.

Story

A little pub history - The land on which the inn stands was originally purchased by the owner of Boclair Farm in Milngavie and began life as a shop selling vegetables grown on the farm. The Antonine Wall, built after Hadrian's Wall, runs nearby and a Roman bath house was found a mile to the west of the pub at Bearsden. Also found, at the near by Chapel Hill, were altars and religious stones with Roman inscriptions. A mix of The Tickled Trout's location, character and history attracts many visitors. The River Allander that flows through the town has played an important part in its development and fly-fishing is a popular pastime.

Brilliant setting, menu is excellent, wide range suiting most tastes. Staff incredibly helpful and attentive, really took care of clientele from start to finish. Only restaurant I have visited where the question was asked regarding allergies etc.
Really tasty turkey pie. As always the staff were excellent it's also the dogs favourite restaurant as she always gets treats and chicken from the puppies menu

Rachel and Amy took great care of us. We brought our 2 young children on the way home from seeing Santa and they made sure we were seated quickly, warm and happy. Perfect service from them both.
Rachel and her team looked after us really well and she was so friendly. Really enjoyed my signature burger and had a decent guest ale. In terms of improvement, service could have been slightly quicker but only slightly.
It's a chain Vintage Inns. It's got a good menu of interesting meals and a nice selection of drinks including some local real ales not just Doom Bar!. A few things missing off the new menu which was odd but what we had was well made and tasty.
We went to the tickled trout for brunch, it's something they've recently started doing. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had a dog with us which was fine and staff were good with the dog. They have bowls that you can put water in and biscuits for dogs. We got the fully cooked English breakfast, eggs royale both with orange juice and tea. The fully cooked English breakfast was much bigger than i thought it was going to be! It was so good and filling that I had to walk home. The eggs royale look really nice. Orange Juice was really good too. Would definitely go back. Service was excellent and breakfast is worth the money.
our visit was great, this is the 2nd time this month we have been to Tickled Trout and we cannot rate the staff, food and atmosphere highly enough. We dealt with Laura but also at least 4 other staff members during our visits and each time everyone is friendly and welcoming. on our first visit Laura even ran over the app and its benefits, this resulted in us downloading the app which in turn resulted in us visiting again sandwiched in between a visit to The Commodore in Helensburgh. the staff where friendly, bright and cheery the food was amazing and made to order i am fussy the atmosphere and the pub itself has a warming quality and i can see us visiting lots over the festive period when i have more spare time.
Super friendly staff, and the food is absolutely amazing. There are some good vegetarian and vegan options too. We're definitely coming back again.
3 of 6 healthy people got sick from our last visit. Vomited in a whole night. After all food being drawn out, the stomach was calm. Lied on bed for the next day. Emailed and asked the reason, we were told they had not problem with the food we ordered, it was the tummy bug. How?! We were all well, had the food, sick, recovered in a day and well again. They chased us to see a doctor. How? Very bad food poisoning reaction and it’s gone now! Even worse, we could not cancel and get refund of our Christmas booking. I’m so scared to have food there again. I have to email them again and again! Always saying another department take over this. F, really sick of this! You don’t need refund my dinner, just cancel my Christmas lunch and give the money back! Don’t be greedy!!!!
