I had the steak and ale pie which was delicious. It appeared to be freshly baked so there was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. My daughter had the steak burger which also looked great. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We will certainly come back if we are in the area.
We called up in advance to book an inside table and informed them that a member of our party was in a electric wheelchair so we would need level access. When we arrived the table we were allocated was inaccessible due to a 1ft step. We weren't offered an alternative and the staff member walked off leaving us stood in the middle of the restaurant. We then decided we would reluctantly sit outside. There was an excessive wait for our food and it seemed as though we were left outside and forgotten. At no point were we asked if we wanted dessert or any more drinks, we had to keep locating staff and prompting them. Staff seemed disinterested in serving us. After a considerable amount of time passed we went inside to ask for the bill ourselves. Once it was eventually bought out, the waitress informed us she'd bring out a card machine. While waiting on this a thunderstorm begun and despite the cover we were getting drenched. While most of our party made their way to the cars, my husband stayed behind to pay. Another customer then informed him that outside seating was bar service so we'd need to go to the bar to pay. We weren't told this and in any case we hadn't booked bar service, we had booked restaurant service. They did take some money off the bill after my husband complained but to be quite honest it still wasn't worth what we paid.
Lovely Pub, friendly staff and the food was fantastic. Staff were attentive but not pushing. Quiet for a Summers Friday lunchtime but that's just a sign of the times. Good pubs need our support and this one definitely deserves it.
Food was delicious, service was good. We had food from adult menu and children's menu and both were great. A little disappointed that chosen dish was unavailable but plenty of other desirable dishes available. Kid-friendliness: We came with 3 small children and were catered to brilliantly. High chairs and small cutlery provided. We had a lovely, enclosed area for our family.
A great pub that we really want to succeed after being closed for so long. We ate inside for the first time after the summer and a couple of things for the management to be aware of. The call bell for food being ready is deafening and at the end of the restaurant spoilt the whole experience, ask for a table near the door. A rethink required. One of the waitresses had a constant hacking cough. We were assured she constantly had COVID tests…she should wear a mask at the very least..
Was on a road trip & stopped off in the hope that we could get some food when everywhere else on our route was fully booked it was a sunday Food very good, my elderly father in law struggles in many places but found his lamb roast cooked to his liking & very enjoyable.. Very attentive service staff & great value £50 for 3 of us including drinks We'll be back
Everyone was friendly and food was good. But the pub was do cold! Second time we've visited it to meet up with family and both times we were frozen stiff Parking: No real car park but we were lucky in getting a space at the front
Bad beer that really upsets your stomach. Be mindful of the group of young adults at the bar and watch your drink being poured. On 19th January 2023 mine tasted like toilet water. Beware, the barmaid is complicit! Parking: Dangerous parking leaves you reversing out on a bend
Fabulous pub, with delicious food and very nice staff. Will definitely come back hereFood: 5/5
5 stars for excellent service and a gorgeous well kept garden... Love the Wimbledon garden too! We didn't eat so couldn't comment but there was cricket on the green the sun was shining and everyone was happy on a Saturday afternoon. Many thanks, hope to dine some time with you.
