Friendly staff and food was tasty and delivered in a good time. Only disappointment I had was that the dessert I wanted was out of stock and had to opt for something else but other than that had no faults whatsoever. Would highly recommend.
The place was beautifully decorated and festive. Thr staff were attentive. The festive menu was mediocre had the turkey for main and Christmas pudding for dessert, have to say it's the worst dessert ever!!
Our experience starting off not too good. We had booked a table for 4 for 2 adults and 2 children and when we arrived we were left stood st the entrance waiting to be seated. There was lots of waiting staff buzzing around but no one spoke to us. We therefore decided to go and choose a table as were told to return to the entrance to await being seated. Once we were given a table it was a very pleasant experience. The food was gorgeous and served piping hot. The waitress that we had was very efficent and polite. The kids enjoyed it and so did we. The final thing to mention is that the male manager was very abrupt and unprofessional. He spoke to his staff like dirt and even us as customers like we were a hinderence to him. Without customers he wouldnt be a manager. Overall i would still recommend the place as the food was good the venue is nice and its in an excellent location only minutes from the motorway.
Staff amazing as I had inadvertently booked for the following week. It was busy but they found us a table. Very courteous and helpful staff. Vegan options available. Food was well presented and very tasty. All five of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Gorgeous place.
Went here after seeing on the website it had a vast non gluten containing menu but when we ordered food we kept getting told this and that part of the meal could have gluten in. Why state a non gluten free menu when some of it would still contain gluten. Staff are pleasant though and lovely atmosphere. And we paid almost £50 for some of our meal missing! No gravy for the roast so it was dry.
Travelled from Essex on business, was pleasantly relaxed at this beautiful place. Loved the open fire and the relaxed candle lit ambiance of the restaurant even the toilets are tastefully decorated. Staff very friendly and accommodating, food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely return if I'm in this area again!
Last minute decision to dine here, it was fairly busy and luckily they could fit us in for the evening. The staff were friendly and always had a smile on their face, Lucie looked after us well. Food was good and in season too, will visit again when I am travelling nearby.
Lovely place! Our first ever visit and most definitely didn't disappoint. Staff were absolutely amazing sorry I didn't get their names and food was yummy. Salt n pepper squid bit too salty for me but then I don't put salt almost on anything so... Starters - Mushrooms in peppercorn sauce & Salt n Pepper squid Mains - Chef's mixed grill & Halloumi and chips forgot to take a pic of this, I was too hungry Desserts - Mini Brownie and cappuccino & Mini Eaton Mess with green tea these "mini" desserts are not so mini if you stuff yourself with starter and main Even though we picked a proper grim day to eat outside, the experience was great and we will definitely be back very soon! Thank you
First time dining at the Swan for years. We were offered a choice of tables as it wasn't packed. There was a nice atmosphere. The meals were OK but could be better. The lasagne was dry and the mixed grill had small cuts of meat. The other meals were all OK but nothing special. There is wide range of drinks available. The desserts were enjoyed by those who had them. The service was good. We will visit again.
When we walked in two people at the front door just ignored us and carried on chatting about weekend plans, we saw the pub was really quiet so decided to walk to a table ,which is when we were met with a lady who was very shocked and asked if we had been seated or shown to a table , when we said no and she rushed us back to the front we were then stood waiting for someone to eventually come to us. The table we were seated at was really dirty and had food on the floor and also we were sat under the loudest speaker that was directed at the table. Other than that the food was standard chef and brewer and nice .
