We are a French-style bistro located in Newry City centre. We open 09:00 - 15:00 Mon - Sat for breakfast & lunch, & reopen from 17:00 Wed - Sat for dinner.

Story

Sugar Supper Club is located on Sugar Island in Newry City, an area with a long history of merchant trading and sugar warehouses. In recent years, it has become the main financial and business centre of the city, as well as the location of the city's Town Hall and Art's Centres. It is a stone's throw from the district courthouse and central bus station.
Co-owners head chef Aidan Markey and restaurant manager Kim Torley strive to make our bistro something a little bit different for the Newry area. Aidan is classically trained in French cuisine, which is reflected in his ever-changing menu.
Both owners pride themselves on using locally and ethically sourced prouduce whenever possibly, an effort that has earned them a silver level award from the Green Tourism board.

Supper Clubs were born in 1930’s South America out of people's love for good food, friendly hospitality, and their need to make a living. In an era of mediocre, expensive restaurants, financial struggles, and government over-regulation, Supper Clubs were the solution. Mainly opened in people's living rooms or in clandestine back street locations (accessed through unmarked doors & advertised only by word of mouth, through a friend of a friend - the original social media) Supper Clubs became the most sought after and best dining experiences. Sugar Supper Club has opened in the spirit of those pioneers, through our love of great food and great hospitality, as well as a reasonable bill.
