Myself and a friend stopped in here late afternoon for a meal and had a warm friendly welcome. There were a few families eating but we were served promptly and didnt wait long for our meals to arrive and they certainly didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was friendly and certainly came across as being a place that was frequented by locals and repeat visitors but as strangers we were made to feel welcome and will certainly eat here again when in the area
Their 2 meals deal is brilliant value we had the gammon egg and chips and the lasagne. Good portions well cooked. Well worth a visit.
A little quiet but it was Monday evening, the staff were nice and even helped when I want something different from the menu, the food was nice and it was close to our hotel.
Well priced food, the usual chain owned pub stuff but still of a good standard! Poker nights on the Thursday from 8pm. Acts on during weekend. Worth a visit even for a pint, usually very busy in the afternoons
We had no preconceived ideas about the pub other than that a good friend suggested having lunch there and he has good taste. It is a big pub with lots of areas to sit. We didn't pre book for lunch but were looked after. The food menu is quite expansive and also really affordable. We made the most of the offers. The chicken katsu curry with chips and rice was divine. There was plenty on the menu for everyone. The range of drinks were good too and they served real ale in handled jugs which I think added to the whole drinking experience. The staff were really friendly and very efficient. The pub was clean and the atmosphere was laid back. There was music being played through the sound system and there was live sport being showed on TV screens. But because the pub was so big, this was all very incidental. Very family friendly. Recommend to all.
Just got back home from having a meal here with my partner, we both had a chick n mix each and a side of garlic bread with 2x cokes. It was absolutely lovely. Staff were lovely and the food was fantastic. A nice chilled out atmosphere aswell perfect for if you're fancying a meal or just a drink. Will definitely be back!
Very reasonably priced good food and lovely cask ales. Been twice while in the lakes for a week Wish it was my local.
Normally pretty good get what you pay for in a greenking and as a rule food is OK but the garlic bread came warm but not toasted so we had warm garlic bread. Ice cream desert had a strip of plastic in it . We did the ice cream knocked off but not the usual standard from previous visits . Sorry strawberry but just not your usual fair .
Great atmosphere with great food and drinks choices. Excellent staff, friendly landlord and comfortable surroundings.
My brother, sister and I went for a drink after coming out of funeral directors, fancied a bite to eat so sis went to order, waited for someone to get their order in then the bar staff said kitchen not taking any more orders, we might have had the wake there but not now, guess they got their regulars and screw anybody else, not getting any more custom from me !
