Visited on Sat 18th Feb with my MiL to be. Came for dinner and to see the lovely Claire sing. We had such a greay time, and it was only my second time there. The ladies behind the bar couldn't do enough for us, and we felt really welcomed. Food was really delicious and fresh, it was the street food menu... but get there early if you want their amazing beef nachos they make their own nachos!! as we overheard they had sold out by 8pm! We had a brilliant night and I'm looking forward to going there again.
Thank you We booked the nook for our group. Alex staff member was really helpful and patient. Made to feel welcome on our first visit. Food was delicious served freshly made, worth those few minutes of waiting for fresh and tasty hot served food. We will certainly be back to eat and drink. The group gave the thumbs up. Nettie
Loved it. Went for a late Sunday lunch. Had a great table facing a big screen as we wanted to watch football. My wife and I had a roast platter to share which was divine and a very generous helping of tasty vegetables. Also very friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
I booked here for Sunday lunch, for me and family. The food was very nice, forgot a side we had ordered but wasn’t the end of the world, reminded a member of staff who then brought it out for us. I found a long hair in my lunch which was intwined in the meat so was not from myself. I put this aside as I was cutting up for my 3 year old. I showed this to staff, where they clearly stated to me that the chefs didn’t have long hair, so was assuming it was mine when it was actually intwined in the lamb when it arrived. Im never a person to complain and the rest of the dinner was great, but when I approached this to management she was very unprofessional, by then we had had already paid the £85 bill. I had told the server my concerns but I had to chase the manager at the bar to raise my concerns. When I finally approached the manager, the most poorest customer service I’ve ever had. Rude and unprofessional, a real shame as thought we would try a local in the area. But I will not be returning.
The Stars looking wonderful, the decor is very modern and welcoming. Plenty of places to sit, an outdoor seating area to the rear with outdoor heaters, the land lady is friendly and the pints are decent.
The star has had a recent chance of owner and a needed freshen up it now looks very clean and very modern! The food is delicious with a great menu and serves the best local sunday lunch. Reasonable price drinks with a nice selection. Bar staff were lovely. Has outside seating with wall heaters and a carpark.
Good food at a good price with friendly happy staff all of which is a vast improvement on previous years ago along with interior and exterior improvements make for a more welcoming venue and hopefully it will be well supported by the local community
Last minute booking for a table of 10. Amazing food and service. The Star has been been beautifully refurbished. Highly recommended.
First visit and wasn't disappointed. Sunday roast with friend's . Top scrum huge portions. Going back for sure .
