Booked a table with my Dad for lunch, large menu with a great range of meals literally to suit all tastes and they were happy to remove cheese from a meal I ordered. Food came out quickly, was piping hot and tasted great. When we were asked if everything was so with the meal they actually apologised for disturbing us which I've never had before. Dessert menu had some standard items and some really unusual ones too. Brilliant experience and I would definitely go back, I do advise you book though as it filled up quickly.
We are regular customers at The Star, Burntwood usually just for drinks, however tonight we did eat and our meal was really good, fresh nice and hot. Thank you Colin for your brilliant service and Molly on the bar it was very busy and she worked over and above her call of duty and what she gets paid. Thank you Colin and Molly for making our visit enjoyable. We shall come again! We have had another excellent meal at the star Thursday 10th November posh fish and chips. Wonderfully organised by Andy who is always on the ball and together with Molly creating a well organised team and making our visit enjoyable .
Booked a surprise meal here for my partners surprise 60th Birthday meal for 14 people in February. What a fantastic night we all had the staff were fantastic and although we all ordered our food separately they made sure it all came out together hot. Well done everyone & would recommend a visit.
Me and my sister came here for a meal for a change and it's my second time and my sister's first. She was a lil unsteady at first as she doesn't like much but Heidi and Molly were kind and we managed to pick her stuff out. Archie served us our food though it did take over 30-40 mins tho we didn't mind! And he was gentle and a busy bee around the place. Food was good, sister loved hers and agreed we may be coming back when I'm free XD.
Service was brilliant, was very busy however we got served quick and the bar staff are lovely. Went in last night between 7 and 10 and was really impressed by the friendliness and the speedy service so thankyou
Regularly drink here and the service and the staff are very good and attentive. They also have a good range of ales. Decided to have some food on the Monday of the 13th February. Good veggie/vegan options. I had the falafel wrap with chilli jam and it was delicious and very well priced. Excellent.
Really not good enough. Reserved a table for 12 online at £5 per head. Arrived at Star Inn to be questioned whether we wanted the Christmas meal or not but they "Couldn't get hold of us as our phone number had a digit missing". Well, we had email confirmation of our booking so even if that was true why not email us? We didn't want the Christmas meal which was lucky for them as they didn't have any left. We were annoyed to find out that a large brass band would be performing right next to us as we ate. in such a small pub this is just ridiculous. Tried to order food via their QR code on the table but the prices were more expensive than on the actual cardboard menu. We decided to write the orders down with prices so that nothing could be forgotten. While ordering we were told that 50% of what we wanted was not available so we chose alternative dishes that no one was really 100% happy about ordering. Food served on non warm plates and about what you'd expect from a JD Wetherspoon at a third of the price. Gammon barely cooked, steak of poor gristle quality Bare in mind this place isn't cheap. One meal missing, which they questioned whether we actually ordered yet THEY told us THAT was the "Last steak" themselves when we ordered it Also 12 people need 12 meals right? We were not charged for the missing meal though. When we got home we realised that they hadn't taken off the £60 deposit so phoned the next day to be told that they had JUST realised this themselves Sure, OK?! and that they couldn't refund it back to our credit card over the phone "Due to data protection". Which of course is absolute nonsense and completely incorrect. Had to drive back to Star Inn for them to refund us in person. They then couldn't even refund us back to our credit card and had to give us cash. A small percentage of this could all be forgiven but for so much to go wrong is just ridiculous and is why I felt the need to write this review. I don't know why I ever bother trying to go out for a meal anymore when "The professionals" can't even get it right.
Nice pub nice atmosphere went there on a Friday night I had a young mullet boy serving me and I can’t say anything bad at all he ran round and looked after us I could tell he was busy .we will be definitely coming back
Very Friendly staff and quick service. Good food too.
Great place to eat and drink! Team are very friendly but not over bearing! Thanks for a great lunch
