A very small gallery, but worth the visit if you like Stanley Spencer. Two exhibitions a year make this worth return trips as the entire space is changed each time.

if you have to gravel nu local public transport grom London. do not take the time to visit it. just a very small exhibition

A small gallery, but with an important collection of Spencer's paintings and drawings, and changing exhibitions featuring works borrowed from other collections. Particularly impressive is the huge unfinished canvas of Christ preaching on the Thames at Cookham where you can see exactly how he worked.

Hadn't come across the artist before and the large unfinished piece showing how he planned the picture was fascinating. Doesn't take long to see the whole exhibition so quite costly for what it is.
