A family friendly local museum celebrating the history of Maidenhead and wartime aviation - take to the skies in our Spitfire Simulator!

Story

We are a family friendly local museum celebrating the history of Maidenhead and surrounding villages. We are open Tues-Sat, 10-4, with free admission to our permanent gallery and temporary exhibition (currently Maidenhead in the Great War). Adventurous types can take to the skies in our special wartime aviation gallery "Grandma Flew Spitfires", with a state of the art Spitfire Simulator! *Please see our website for simulator charges.

We welcome groups of all types and ages, please contact [email protected] to discuss your visit.

Small area but packed with interest and like the spitfire simulator too tho didnt take a flight! Stewards interesting too. Worth the entry which lasts a year. Will return as had to tour at pace of steward so need to go at own pace.

Brilliant especially upstairs re unusual detail of Air Transport Service and very realistic Spitfire simulator. Allow plenty of time. Enthusiastic informative volunteers.

This morning I visited the Heritage Centre with my 12 year old granddaughter who wanted to see THE ATA exhibition in connection with her school project she has to do . We spent well over an hour upstairs and the gentleman who was telling us all about the exhibition was very knowledgeable, helpful and we learnt a lot well worth a visit
