Stopped on bikes for a welcome break after a long run. Service was decent not overly freindly and looked like a good range of drinks available. Didn't look at the menu but the restaurant side did seem to getting busy. Nice place albeit slightly hidden away in the town. Recommend a visit if you are visiting Falkland.
We popped in for a quick bite mid-aft and it was just perfect! Any Canadians reading this- their poutine is perfectly meal-sized We'll be back, and next time we'll bring the dog dog friendly!
Very popular place so make sure to book. Great food and staff also reasonable prices!
I don't usually leave reviews but the stag deserves it. Me ,my wife and 2 kids had an excellent meal . There was plenty of choice of both food and drink and the place is immaculate ,the staff are sound too . The only problem I had was I walked into the ladies toilet instead of the gents .......maybe put the wee signs higher up the doors for tall folk Would've put 6 stars in if I could. Will definitely go back.
Second time I have visited this year and the steak pie wasn’t available. Had the fish and chips it was actually really good and cooked well but the new menu is lacking traditional Scottish pub food.
Good food in a traditional pub setting.
I have been going to this pub regularly over the years and appears to be under new management now. After visiting recently for some food and drinks it seems very disorganised some of the staff don’t seem to have any experience which is fine if they are being shadowed but this was not the case. The bar did appear to be full of off duty staff well I assume they were off duty as I seen most of them walking behind the bar but doing nothing but chatting. I hope they manage to get some experienced staff as the pub is nice
Good service, quaint surroundings and tasty food
Arrived for a late lunch after a walk in the Lomond Hills, looking forward to a nice meal. Waited over an hour for the starter even though we had pre-ordered our meals. When the mains eventually arrived it was the smallest fish we'd ever seen, accompanied by a handful of chips & a teaspoon of peas! No tartar sauce either. One of the main courses arrived about 15 mins after the others, by which time the rest of the party had finished their meals. Poor meal, over priced & disappointing service
Wonderful experience last week at The Stag Inn. We arrived early in the season so I am glad we were able to get a table. This traditional Scottish pub has all the charm you could imagine and the staff was professional and nice. Anticipating our needs, drink orders and the food was so good. Smoked Macaroni and Cheese and Steamed Halibut cooked to perfection. Would definitely return without hesitation and happy to recommend.
