We are a Bar/Restaurant serving freshly prepared food in welcoming and comfortable surroundings all year round. We also have a designated Coffee Shop.

Open 7 days a week.
Bar lunches - 12-2.30pm. Evening meals- 5-9pm. Mon-Sat.
Early Bird Menu (Only £11 for 2 courses)- 4.30-6.30pm Mon - Thurs.
Sunday Roast Menu - 12.30-9pm.

Coffee shop 9am-4.30pm Mon-Sat
Sunday- 11am-4pm

We hired the stag for my mothers birthday, we were able to use the whole top floor and it was a great success!nThe staff were so courteous and the owner, Graeme is extremely helpful and very easy to deal with. Everybody RAVED about the food, of which the Stag was kind enough to cater us with excellent selections.nnWe were able to decorate the walls with balloons and bunting and play our own music after a little figuring out. We were also able to host some live music from my mother and her band. Overall the venue was just perfect.nnI had a good look around for a venue in Forfar and this was by far the most comfortable and spacious, but also cosy.n5/5!nPhotos are from when first viewing/ chat with Graeme.
Lovely place , friendly staff and good food and drink what more could you ask for
Myself and 7 friends were looking for tea after a sunny day in the hills. We're really glad we found the Stag! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the staff were lovely. Two of us are vegan and the chef made us some amazing gnocchi with a very tasty tomato sauce with veg. We were impressed and would definitely recommend this as a menu choice - I think everyone would enjoy vegan or not. Also would recommend the 'hand cut chips' - very tasty, chunky and generous portion. Thank you to the Stag team for refuelling us for the drive home :
Just in for some dinner we're regulars and consistency of quality there as usual/expected. Friendly service and good quality.
