Breakfast was mainly tasty and well presented but the portions were pitiful. For £10 I had a couple of rashers of overcooked streaky bacon, a small portion of scrambled eggs and the tiniest slice of toast I think I've ever seen....it was the size of a cream cracker. I almost laughed out loud. I'm assuming the chef is used to serving a 7 course pretentious set menu and simply forgot what they were dishing up. I'm not expecting a full English at this type of establishment but a half slice of toast? £40 for three breakfasts and I was so hungry when I left I had to go to the bakery on the way home for a cake. We all loved the ambience, service was decent, coffee was great. I'd give them another go, but I'd be very disappointed if portions were the same.
Service very poor. Not sure if you were to order at bar or be served. Took and hour and a half to have 3 small plates and a coke. Resturant was not busy.nFood wise poor. Chips were cold. Orzo was luke warm.nChips were then instantly reheated as they were much darker and crispier.nStaff did not know what do do with complaints. One member of staff was obviously ill. Taking her inhaler behind the bar. But continued to appear to be struggling to breath normally.nSuch a shambles!
Enjoying “The Nest” much more than the former set up.nnHad brunch, lunch and dinner/drinks and all 3 were faultless!nnAlso nice for just coming in for a coffee.
Went for a meal with my family and we were so disappointed. Portion sizes were all different our cabbage was cold my son in law asked if he could have the apple chutney instead of horseradish with his beef which he did get but 3 of us had chicken and they gave us horseradish instead of the apple chutney which we should of got....they served all the adults with their desserts 10 mins before the children's desserts, the brownies was supposed to come with a compote but was served with the same toffee sauce as the sticky toffee, one of the sticky toffee puddings was twice the size of the other one....we were all very disappointed with the meal it looked and tasted awful. We had our dog with us and we had to ask 4 times for a bowl of water for her, the staff spent more time wandering around on phones rather than seeing to the customers..Can safely say we wont be back very disappointed on the whole and price wise it wasnt worth it
We mention two times my wife is vegetarian when we was ordering food and we order salad but we asked to be meat free version. They bring it with no chicken but with bacon in it. After we tell them they took it away and my wife decide she is alright with chips only. I was shocked when we recieve the bill with that salad included. I didn’t want to argue in the front of my family so i just payed the bill. It was busy day and i guess staff was struggling to keep up. To give justice i need to mention staff was actually nice and trying their best but i dont think i will go there again.
