We ate here twice recently while in Birmingham, food was very quick, hot and fresh only slight let down were old onion rings on the 1st visit. Second time they were fresh. Overall really enjoyed it. It does attract some odd types, more so than a normal spoons I guess because of location.
Everything about this experience was great, until they served the food!! I had a large breakfast and added two extra portions of beans. The food was served promptly, and the staff were attentive. But that food was so bland it was almost discriminatory. Nothing had any taste - I'm not a man who often leaves food on his plate, but on this occasion, I had no choice. For the life of me, I don't understand how beans, eggs, bacon, and sausage can be tasteless... but they somehow managed it. I've been to a few Wetherspoon establishments, and this was by far the worst. The food was so bad I have to believe that there's another reason for it!
It’s the annual October Spoons Fest - with many cask ales brewed for the first time, exclusively for this festival. Running until Sunday 20 October 2024.Service: 5/5
This place is absolutely huge, took me by surprise when I stepped in. Other than that, it's just your standard Wetherspoons pub. I went in for a pint, and I believe I was served the wrong beer. Despite being asked to clarify the right one and specifically pointing to the tap, my server went to another tap out of my sight, and I believe she served me the one she originally thought I'd asked for. I didn't make an issue out of it, just drank up and left.
Been going for breakfast at every JD Wetherspoon around the country whenever I have the chance to try a new one, usually breakfast always good and best deal, and usually pretty chilled experiences in the mornings. However, this was my least favourite JD Wetherspoon. It was very challenging to get a coffee, machine not working, asked for help, staff too busy, found another machine in the end of the room, also not working, other customers also frustrated trying to get a coffee, it took so long, that by the time I got back to table that I chose and gave the table number when I did my breakfast order, my table was taken by someone else. It was way too complicated to get a coffee, too much to chase around before having a coffee.
would be five stars but mother is breathing fire over a 3 rated chilli wrap. People must enjoy themselves here because the tables are so sticky?! why give me lime I want lemon!!! I am too scared to ask for lemon and so I will eat my lime quietly and demurely Vegetarian options: I eat vegans I don't mind but the vegans don't usually like it when I nibble on their fingers as an appetiser Dietary restrictions: harley was lactose intolerant but weetherspoons cured him with the super haloumi Parking: I gave my keys to the valet and haven't seen my car since? rather rugged fellow, very dedicated to the job as he sleeps on the doorstep of the pub waiting for the next car to come Kid-friendliness: I bite the children but whether spoons is usually kid friendly when I'm not there!! love a good side of ankles with my haloumi
Very busy pub, and I'm lucky to have found a seat. Recently updated. Had chicken strips, which were nice and crispy. There were not many chips. Had a refillable coffee, which you serve yourself. Had a latte, and it was not very nice. Very strong and bitter, I think the machine needs checking.Food: 4/5
Wetherspoons #111 visited. A very long and narrow pub, situated on the Eastern side of the City Centre. One of six on the City Centre. The pub was very busy when I visited. Didn't stop for food on this occasion, as had breakfast in another branch earlier on. Therefore can't comment on food quality or service. Had a pint of Salopian Brewery Lemon Dream Beer. Was in good condition for the price of £2.74.
For a quick filling bite to eat, this place is cheap and tasty! what you'd expect from a spoons establishment However, the staff seemed very rushed off their feet so getting our food and drink so quickly was impressive. However, lots of places to sit were empty but there were dirty dishes everywhere and no staff clearing or wiping tables. The table we sat on were sticky. For a spoons, sticky tables are the normally fine but there's were glue like sticky and we're in desperate need of a clean or a simple wipe. Food was filling and high quality and the staff were super friendly. Definitely would go back here next time I'm in the city. Thank you for a lovely afternoon :
