Just had the most amazing roast with my family! We had the beef, pork and the pie and all were amazing! The cauliflower cheese and braised red cabbage were packed with flavour too! Would highly recommend and will be going back next time we're in the area. The owner was very welcoming and even set up a separate TV in the bar area so we could watch the women's Euro final. 5 star for everything!
Have visited before never had a bad experience. I had the steak & ale pie absolutely gorgeous will be back I would reccomend this place to anyone.
Amazing food and lovely staff. The chef's specials are always delicious! We're so lucky to have this great pub as our local. Phil and Carolyn are doing a fantastic job and have really made a difference since taking over. They have always been so accommodating and nothing is too much trouble
Thank you for finding us a table today even though you were busy. The roast dinner we had was amazing with a variety of fresh vegetables and homemade cauliflower cheese and a huge Yorkshire pudding too. ALL the staff were friendly and service was really good. Will be recommending to family and friends and look forward to coming back soon.
My friend and I went there today staff so lovely and friendly, we had the 3 course Sunday dinner and it was the best 3 course meal I have ever had and the best roast dinner I have ever had it was amazing and I am a fussy eater, we can not wait to go back already Thankyou so much x
Nice pub. Restaurant is really cosy, lots of interesting old lighting hung from the ceiling in a chandelier style with ropes. Almost steam punk lighting. Was very quiet for a Saturday night. But Halloween weekend so I suspect many are out elsewhere. Food looked good. Hope to check it out again soon.
My husband and I visited about 4 weeks ago. The food was absolutely amazing, the pie was to die for. In fact we are visiting again in a couple of weeks time and bringing family from all over England just to prove that this is the best pie ever !!! don't let me down now !!
Really accomodating staff, took time to explain and allowed me and the large group I was in to wait out the front on their benches before they opened. The food was also good with great portion sizes for the price. Would visit again if in the area.
we always walk past this pub and every time we try to go in there is either a private booking or its closed! sad really, maybe keep the private bookings to a separate part of the pub so the locals can come here to enjoy it too ? Edit: the reply from the owners says it all really, when in Hospitality you have to be open to constructive criticism, this obviously is not the job for you... We have tried coming here most weekends at lunch and dinner even pre covid and its still closed for private events or closed Hopefully this pub gets taken over by someone who knows how to interact properly with customers, many thanks :
Great Sunday lunch at The Spotted Cow. The roast was hard to beat and the recommended wine lived up to to the praise Live music made the day. Staff very attentive and friendly. Will definitely come again and recommend Sue & Mike Fortescue
