It was the first time we'd been to the Sportsman since it reopened and we were not disappointed. We received a very warm welcome by the 2 ladies who were running the bar/food. They were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It was my birthday and they put a candle in my baguette, such a caring little touch. The food was also amazing and well worth the money. We will definitely be going back.
Lovely little pub. Nicely decorated. Went there for a funeral wake so not had a full experience. The food provided was excellent.
Great place..... Nicely renovated. Look forward to trying there food tomorrow, beer did not fail.
Found by chance and what good luck, friendly atmosphere, good food and extremely clean, the staff were very welcoming to us and our little Dog Primrose, we hope to visit again

Good quality food and coffee. Polite and welcoming staff. Real fireplace on, nice and comfy, welcoming atmospere. Covid safe. Sanitiser dispensers outside and inside. Option for fully online ordering and paying experience whilst inside pub. Will come again.
Very good , lovely warm welcome from the bar and waiting staff, log fire burning , and food was good at a reasonable price.
Greeted with a friendly Barlady food is lovely. Big onion Ring. Quiche is Salmon and Chorizo.
Lovely old pub. Had a really nice stay and Stilton pie which was on the specials board. Friendly staff and good beer selection
What a wonderful pub, the Landlady couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I had a Ceasar Salad which was delicious, my daughter who is Vegan enjoyed her Jacket potato with the appropriate filling, plus some Vegan dressing was unearthed from the depths of the kitchen for her, nothing was too much trouble, and I was forced to sample some of delightful ciders they have on draught to boot! It's a shame I live 200 miles away or I'd be a regular!! If ever you find yourself in this neck of the woods this pub definitely worth a visit. Just lovely.
