Attending gig in Lyric and we couldn't have chosen a better placed hotel. Right in the middle of town with it's own free and secure car park. Entry to said car park is extremely tight so be careful! There is a video online for best entry. Receptionist was super friendly and efficient - in fact, all the staff here are fantastic. Room was lovely, if a little tired in places. Very well equipped with hairdryer, iron, ironing board, tea tray, fridge and toiletries. Down sides - the room was far too warm and noise does tend to carry a bit. Breakfast is included. Really good selection and very well cooked. Would definitely stay here again
I arrived at the hotel far later than planned due to transport problems. But I was greeted at reception by Ivo who made me feel very welcome. I made a couple of requests during the booking process through Sophie who was brilliant throughout. The communication was first class. Also, I must mention Michelle whose scrambled eggs on toast were out of this world. The best scrambled eggs on toast I've had for years.
Large room, good shower, comfy bed and all exceptionally clean. Hotel is in a perfect spot for shopping and socialising in the town. Small but handy and welcoming bar for a pre dinner drink and on - site parking. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We'd stay again without hesitation. A great find!Rooms: 5/5
Friendly / Helpful Staff. Lovely Room. Superb Breakfast. Stayed here over the weekend for work. Needed to be on-site for between 8:00am to 8:30am on Sat / Sun so they agreed to start weekend breakfast 20 mins earlier at the weekend. Only negative was car park entrance ... its very tight.
We stayed new years eve a group of 10 friends. Rooms,host,breakfast,cleanliness,parking,location all outstanding. Thank you for making our start into 2023 so memorable.Rooms: 5/5

Stayed for one night on business. Not many choices In Carmarthen. Arrived late with car - narrow entrance as described = very narrow. Reception was a mixture of a lounge and bar. Very odd space. No atmosphere. Decided to eat out as there wasn’t any indication or offer of dining in at 7:30pm. My room was outside across the car park; felt like I wasn’t staying at the hotel. Not the end of the world. It was immediately next to the High Street and it was easy to access, so it’s location allowed you to come to and from your room. There is a cash point, a CoOp and a curry restaurant immediately outside the hotel. Perfect location for access to the town and thankfully saved me from having no food or drink. The receptionist it off on your breakfast, but I think simple communication on arrival, if I want to eat or drink at the bar would’ve actually encourage me to do so rather than second guess. I could have asked, but after a 5 hour drive, it didn’t cross my mind. Missed business opportunity? I stayed in room 11 on the ground floor, which is a medley off the driveway as you enter by car. The room is next to the front entrance. It was comfortable for one; in the bed was really comfortable, and actually a double bed and not a twin bed which most hotels offer when booking a double. There was a fridge and a bottle of water. Not many hotels offer you a bottle of water, so that was nice. The TV was unusually high. The remote was a little unreliable to use. Good to set up the instructions on the table to help you get familiar with where you are and what you can and can’t do. I can’t help, thinking that the room made me feel rather down. It needs a fresh lick of paint. No colour. Even an artificial plant would have cheered me up. Bathroom; The shower head was odd. It worked at least and the water was hot. A couple of soap dispensers. Toilet was a very tight squeeze against one wall. The sink had a good light, but had dust and electricity cables above that you don’t really need to see. Cupboard was big enough to hang a shirt inside and there were lots! of plugs. The lights above the bed are very weak, too dim to be able to read, so you have to turn on the top light which is super bright. Cost. £89 for 8th January 2023. It was cheap and cheerful. I’d be gutted if I paid £150 for this room in peak season summer. I like to see all businesses do well, but I’d like to see small improvements to things that. could be easily fixed. Some music on in the bar. Evening dinner options. A fresh splash of colour in the bedroom. A lick of paint. I’m 50-50 if I’d stay here. again.
Fabulous stay at the Spilman. Free parking, Co op conveniently directly opposite. Right next to the theatre and curry house. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff.
Lovely comfortable beds, spacious and clean rooms, plus lovely staff. This was the first hotel I could find when I got stranded in Carmarthen and I couldn't have asked for a better time.
The best hotel we have been so far during our roadtrip. Clean rooms, very spacious and the breakfast was really well taken care of and made after you order what you want. Our compliments!Rooms: 5/5
