The Spice Lounge

I have had a variety of currys from here over the last couple of years take away and every single one has been fabulous. The tandoori salmon is some of the best fish I've ever had, anywhere! Fresh, flacky and packed full of flavour. It's an absolute must try. Rice, perfectly spiced. Onion bhaji and nans, fabulous! I had the lamb dupiaza this time. The lamb was tender, and the curry itself was packed full of papers and onions in a fabulous onion sauce, beautifully spiced and flavoured. The Spice lounge is a real must go to if you're in Derby and want a 5 star curry!

Beautiful restaurant with a stunning interior and excellent customer service. The food was delicious and very quick to come.

First visit for me. Great evening. I had the Spice Lounge Special Masala which was really nice and I would definitely have it again. The atmosphere was lively and the service was attentive without being intrusive. I will be going back. Recommend booking for late table on a Sat when we went as the place was pretty full.Food: 4/5

The spice lounge is a nice, clean and friendly place. The decor is nice, the table was clean and the waiter was very prompt and knowledgeable. The food was very nice, I had the beef curry with extra chilies it was unanimously accepted as the best dish on our table. It was tasty, lots of spices and was not oily at all with plenty of beef chunks. We had 4 other chicken dishes, which were all different in taste and spice, all of them were good. The rice was very good, not all bunched up. Naans were fresh, hot and the roti was also light & fluffy! Overall a good place to eat. Only thing that let them down was the fact they charged us for the dips!!! I've been many restaurants and none have ever charged us for the dips that come with the poppadoms. I'll be going back.

This restaurant has become a family favourite venue, to celebrate the New Year, birthday meals out & general get togethers. They've catered for dietary requirements well.. Gluten & lactose intolerance. Table staff being well versed with the menu, but always willing to check with their chef.. To avoid any issues with our meals. I would highly recommend booking in advance, especially for larger groups. To avoid disappointment.. 5

It would have got 5 stars if all of the food arrived at same time. We only had 8 different tapas. Would definitely go again. Nice staff !!

Ate here on Saturday night and was really impressed with the decor, very nice looking restaurant. Opted for one of the specials, Garlic chilli chicken which was a lovely red colour and tasted absolutely gorgeous. Also had a chicken tikka madras which had a nice spice and was full of flavour. The chicken just melted in your mouth. Will definitely eat here again next time I’m in the area.

‘The Spice Lounge’ was highly recommended to me recently, so I booked in for a meal with some old school friends and our Form Tutor. Wow!!! What an experience. I never knew what to expect and didn’t want to go with any expectations either. Located in Sadler gate, Derby. It’s really easy to find and surrounded by ample parking. Most of which is Free after 8pm . You get a friendly welcome upon arrival, not only do you hear the buzz but feel it too!!! A completely different vibe to your normal Indian cuisines, the atmosphere and ambiance are absolutely perfect. The Decor is warm and welcoming too. If your looking for a great night out, with a vibe, delicious food, fantastic customer service then this is the place for you. The staff are friendly, polite and efficient. It was great to see the Boss, Kerron, leading by example which is very rare. All staff knew their roles, no one was standing about making customers feel awkward. The staff morale was clear and they worked as a team. Great to witness this. Our drinks order was taken and popadoms were provided whilst we waited for the last of friends to arrive. The staff patiently waited for the last few to arrive and then took an order as a whole, which meant we all ate together. The food was brought out at the same time for everyone and let me tell you… It was absolutely amazing!!! From the Curries, to the rice to the naans, the flavours, portions sizes and warmth were all cooked to perfection. We all as a collective group of friends we’re very impressed with Kerron and the team, the food, the welcome and the service. On top of that the prices are very reasonable too. Due to some of our guests arriving late, we were politely asked to move to another table after we had all finished. The table was booked for other guests. This was our error as a group. Kerron went the extra mile again, and provided a complimentary drink for the inconvenience caused. I can’t recommend The Spice Lounge enough. I appreciate there are many competitors in the Derby area, but I’d definitely encourage you to experience ‘The Spice Lounge’, which will set the standard and benchmark for you. Thank you again to Kerron and the team for a great experience and a fantastic evening.
