A very comfortable two nights spent here in January. Lovely room, bathroom and complimentary tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and bottled water. All very clean. Surprisingly quiet. Friendly and helpful staff and useful, of course, to be able to get a wide selection of food and drink in the adjoining pub great breakfast choice. No faults - thank you.
I broke my leg in January and today was my first trip out. I’d heard lovely things about this pub with a nice outdoor area so I hopped over on my crutches with my friend and my service dog. We sat outside and tried to order drinks. We were completely refused service because of my service dog because I didn’t have the paperwork to prove it despite her clearly being a service dog. I’m now sat in the armoury across the road which is a beautiful pub. They not only welcomes my service dog with open arms but they are completely dog friendly. It was a lot of effort to get all the way across the road just to be turned away.
We didn't expect too much to be honest, but I've stayed in worse places, the room was clean and tidy for only £62 per night which was excellent value for money.nWe did have breakfast on our last morning and I must say that it was the best Wetherspoons breakfast I've had! The food was properly cooked and hot as were the plates.nThe only negative was our room was noisy due to a fracas late at night followed by an early beer delivery in the morning.
Very pleasantly surprised with the size and amenities of the room, lovely and clean and the complimentary water bottles were a nice touch. Little noisy being on the main road but some extra noise is to be expected of a pub hotel so not a deal breaker. Staff on arrival were polite, helpful and friendly. Will definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Didn't stay in the hotel, but one of the better wetherspoons I've been to. Great service, welcoming and friendly to the kids. Food well cooked and served quickly.
