Ate in there a couple of times. Very good. £16.99p for 2 of us x eating, each time, including drinks Same meal at where we were staying was £16.99p each, plus drinks. What a difference. Even better a pint of beer was £1.79pabout £7.00p where we were staying. It was very busy for obvious reasons, so says a lot. Recommend.
Positives first.. room small but clean and tidy and perfect for a short break..nLocation is fab with a short walk to centre and all local amenities.nStaff every member of staff we had dealings with were friendly knowledgeable and polite and pleasant in particular Jack the night porter.nnNEGATIVEnWe stayed here for one night last night after a lovely day. we went out for a meal and a few drinks at the night time and arrived back in our room at approximately 12.30am. Our room was 109 and was situated on the side of the Hotel the furthest part of the hotel across the road was the Take Away Shrewsbury BBQ and Grill.. This is when our night went wrong.. The noise from the adjacent take away was absolutely horrific people shouting screaming singing and even a fight, this all went on until 4.10am. We were given some earplugs from reception but tbh they were no good ..Think this hotel needs to invest in some better windows. I appreciate speaking to the manager this morning and coming and she dealt politely and professionally with my complaint. My advice to anyone staying here at a weekend would be to avoid at all costs rooms 108 and 109. I do have a video but unfortunately cannot load it onto here for people to judge for themselves.
Typical Wetherspoons bar area with the standard food menu. Always good value. At time of visit external repairs being done making it look a bit rough Oct 2024 & inside looks tired and needs renovation. Decent real ales selection at bargain prices. Adjacent to the River and bridge across.
Stayed here about 24 years ago just after Spoons opened this as a hotel. The front car park was a big seller..but now a beer garden. Does what Spoons says on the packet. Food n drink very reasonable.
Great location by the bridge. Typical good selection of beers as it's Wetherspoon's. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice outside area but next to road near bridge. Friendly crowd of student types made it a happy evening.
