We have just spent a weekend at the Shooting Lodge and came away extremely disappointed. The photographs do NOT reflect the reality of the property. It is incredibly small, clearly there was a lot of jigging about of furniture in order to give the illusion of space. We found it extremely difficult to heat, even with the heating on permanently as it is heated by storage heaters and one open fire. Upon arrival, we found no welcome package, how much does 1 box of t-bags, 1 jar of coffee and 1 pint of milk cost? The "carving" knives were useless, they wouldn't cut butter. The lack of solid soap in the 2 shower areas. Only table lamps in the sitting area no central lighting, so once it dusk arrives, you've no chance of reading unless you're sitting underneath one of few table lamps in there.

It was a wonderful week I spent there! On the booking sight it doesnt show all of its beauty as upon arrival me and my family found another 2 beds sitting on the balcony overlooking the lovely open fireplace and living area, I chose to stay there for the week instead of one of the normal bedrooms. It was so cool to wake up to look down and see your family all together and you being able to stay in bed and talk to them from your bedroom. Not to mention when you step outside you have a whole forest to explore all to yourself, just don't be an idiot like me and get lost lol ;) Plus it is soo close to all the amazing areas to visit like the town of Ironbridge and the Victorian farm which is only a short walk over the lovely sheep fields from your bedroom! It is great for having little celebrations with its large medieval banquet table. And as a matter of fact my family are re-visiting it soon as we loved it so much, I'd definitely recommend it for those who would like to take a short and quiet break from their busy hustle and bustle lives! ;) It is wonderful for young ones who like to explore as well! ;) Also forgot to mention that it has all the right equipment for those planning to stay there with a new born baby!
