Absolutely brilliant night on Friday 4th July celebrating my mums 80th!nWe were a party of 20 and the staff were brilliant and the food was lovely. The evening entertainment was superb and we had a really good night...thankyou to everyone at the Ship Inn for making my mums birthday a memorable one!
We saw great reviews and the website shows great views so we thought we would be on the beach. We were a little disappointed when we arrived and there is a fairly busy road between the pub and the beach but this is common on UK beaches so not that surprised.nWe were going to stay for food but we got quite a cold welcome from the bar staff so we decided just to have a drink.nThe outside area is nice and the seats are comfortable. Inside it does look really nice, its just a shame the day we were there the atmosphere was not great.
I work for a Community Centre in London and part of my job is to arrange seaside trips for our older group members. We booked the Ship Inn for 45 people and we were so impressed. The pub itself has a beautiful view of the sea and a lovely garden. The staff were fantastic, very accommodating to our groups needs including last minute changes to the size of the booking and a dog joining us. We all had fish and chips and ice cream and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend and I will definitely go again if I find myself in Herne Bay.
The Ship in Herne Bay is one of those rare finds that makes you wish you lived closer. We only called a couple of hours ahead and they still managed to squeeze us in—something I was very grateful for, and it set the tone for the evening.nnAmazing service! Think hospitality masterclass. Even when a few dishes had sold out, the way the team talked us through the specials turned it into part of the experience rather than a disappointment.nnFood-wise, it was a hit all round. My lamb pie with creamy mash a very welcome swap for chips was hearty and perfectly done, while my partner’s Cajun chicken pasta packed flavour with just the right kick.nnWe couldn’t manage dessert this time, but the sundaes that floated past us looked like they deserved their own fan club. Next visit, we’ll come hungrier.nnIn short: a beautiful old pub with charm, fantastic food, and service that makes you feel genuinely looked after. A proper gem in Herne Bay.
Decided at the last minute to come to The Ship for a Sunday roast. First time visiting this pub and was not disappointed. Young friendly efficient staff. Delicious roast lamb and trimmings, also delicious puddings. We will definitely recommend The Ship to friends and family and we will definitely return.
