A Beautiful 17th centry Cotswold stone pub.

Story

The Rose & Crown is in the heart of the idyllic village of Shilton, two miles south of Buford, in the Cotswolds.
Dating back to the 17th Century, it is a traditional Cotswold stone inn, with original beams and a log fire in each of the two rooms. In warm weather, customers can enjoy dining and drinking at the dozen tables in the charming garden. Well supported by local residents, it manages to combine being a friendly village ‘local’, as well as a destination food pub.

Have been visiting regularly for twenty years and love it. Small and friendly with open fire in winter and lovely outside garden for summer eating in pretty village with ford. Nice service and good food at sensible prices so always book for special family occasions.

Lovely Cotswold village pub. Only drawback is that there is limited seating in the bar if all your after is a pint. Good outdoor seating when weather is fine. Food here is good

I loved the Rose & Crown. Epically old pub with wood burner, traditional bar and top notch food, all with no air of pretence. If in the area, this rivals the Angel at Burford on a winter’s day.

A lovely quaint in the middle of nowhere pub. Great hospitality and food. Reasonably priced considering there's no competition.
