The Sewing Center is just the absolute best shop! I went in to buy a new sewing machine after my Singer gave out. Everyone at the shop was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The front desk woman, Ellie, spent a considerable amount of time talking to me about different machines to find one that would suit my needs best. She let me test a Janome HD machine, answered all my questions, and worked with me when my bank card was having issues. Her husband, Chris, gave me a demonstration for my new machine, and even threw in a bottle of machine oil at no charge. But now, I wish I had paid for it just to support such a great business.  I’m so glad such a kind and genuine family business like this exists in London. I will be going to this shop indefinitely for all my sewing machine goods and services.  To the team, thank you so much for all your help and kindness. You went above and beyond, and I truly appreciate it.

Absolutely fantastic service - I can't recommend highly enough. Chris was able to revive our vintage almost 70 years old Singer sewing machine and it now runs like new. Very knowledgeable staff and a great variety of machines and accessories.

Huge praise for the Sewing Centre. My old machine was almost beyond repair but, realising it had sentimental value to me, Chris went out of his way to search for a rare part. He mended the machine which is now running smoothly.  The whole experience was positive, from a quick friendly reply from Ellie to my initial inquiry, prompt service, excellent communication and expert repair and service. Thank you!!

I had a great experience buying a sewing machine here! The communication beforehand was excellent, the range of machines made available for me to try covered a range of price points and I was offered loads of advice as someone who’d never had a digital machine before! Even the delivery arrangements were tweaked to make things easier for me - I can’t recommend this shop enough.

Just had my Janome Memory Craft fixed at record short notice for an emergency. Super friendly efficient service - couldn't recommend highly enough

Absolutely disgusted! My elderly parents brought in their Bernina 730 Record for a service and to fix a reverse stitch issue. My mother had to ring several times to check up on the progress of the work. Eventually after 2wks the machine was ready to collect. They were not given any details of the works carried out nor a demo upon collection. The staff quickly wanted payment of £85 and that was that. After checking the machine for my parents the thread tensioner is broken and the light catch bent. I suspect this company did no works on the machine and merrily took my parents' money. They are pensioners who travelled carrying the heavy machine from South Croydon. Shame on you, my mother was in tears. I will be following this up with an email. Failure to complete commissioned works and dishonest.  Update: contacted shop owner and agreed to full refund.

Chris and his wife were so helpful - I needed to rent a sewing machine to learn how to sew for a job starting in a week- they both went out of their way to explain things to me. They were so kind and sincere - they could honestly not be nicer people. And Chris knows exactly what he is talking about - five minutes of him explaining to me about things , I went home and sewed my first pillow case - with a few YouTube videos to help but still! Very supportive - I wish them the best with everything. People like they deserve good things!

Friendly,  helpful and professional services,  have been using The Sewing Centre Battersea to keep all my machines running smoothly for over 20 years.

I rang Chris desperate for help with my Bernini which had sieved up. I bought it into the shop and thought I was going to have to fork out money for a service. To my my amazement and eternal gratitude Ellie had a quick look and found the culprit a tiny thread caught in the bobbin and lo and behold everything was restored to normal and my bank balance remained healthy Thank you so much to you all!
