I had a wonderful stay at Seven Stars Penryn. Was staying on a business trip and I thought the room was well equipped with a good breakfast in a cold box and also with a good selection of teas. The dinner was great and the server helpfully advised me on what to order. The only thing that would stop me giving this place a five star is it was a little bit noisy on a Tuesday evening on the street outside the pub beyond 11pm. They do give ear protectors but I was worried to miss my alarm in the morning. Would advise perhaps a sign to advise patrons to please not speak on street outside pub beyond 10pm on a week night. As they were speaking quite loudly.
I wish I could give a higher rating! I came in with family, granted we were a table of 8 but we booked. We ordered 4 pies, 2 burgers and 2 steaks. The chips were good, everyone said the pies and burgers were good. My steak however wasn't cooked properly, it came out medium rare which I asked for but it was more steamed, it definitely missed the sear a steak needs and the flavour of the steak was hidden by the rosemary. Such a shame as the rest of the food and the service was brilliant. I would come again but wouldn't order the steak
We had a lovely stay here on Tuesday night. The member of staff we spoke to was very polite, friendly and helpful. It was a shame the kitchen wasn’t open but they took the time to phone me in the morning to let me know which was appreciated. Very nice room and this would have been a 5 star review if not for the issues we had with the shower which randomly alternated between scalding hot or freezing cold. Otherwise a great stay!
Very welcoming and attentive staff. Nice bar with good range of well cooked bar meals and on the premises brewed ale. Room was quite small but beautifully decorated and very well appointed. A continental breakfast was provided, which was fine, but would benefitted from the addition of butter and jam. Overall, highly recommended.
We can hear for dinner and food was great! Couldn’t fault it and it was quick out. £12 for a burger and a drink, great value! The service however was shocking and clearly staff have been badly trained. There was 1 young girl in particular that was very rude, when I ordered my drink she poured me something completely different and when I asked to change it was met with snarky rude comments. We also found a hair in one of our drinks… which happens and is fine as long as it’s dealt with correctly which it wasn’t. When we made her aware she couldn’t have cared less, laughed and walked off. Definitely won’t be back again. No food is good enough to be putting up with that kind of service… she’s really let her whole team down there. Lost 4 local customers and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
