Story

The Scotch of St James is a nightclub, live music and private event space which first opened its doors on the 14th of July 1965. Renowned as the preferred playground for just about every major music personality of the swinging 60's the club famously played host to a then unknown Jimi Hendrix's first impromptu gig on arrival in England in 1966.

More than twenty years after it last opened its doors, The Scotch was restored in January of 2012 and re-launched in March of 2014 after an eight month partnership with Le Baron in 2013. The current Scotch team is dedicated to building on its illustrious heritage as a culturally significant meeting point, aiming to host the city's most relevant and exciting events and personalities in music, fashion, film and the arts.

Disgusting behaviour from the lady at the door and the bouncers who follow what she does and say. Her comments and behaviour were disgusting and have already raised a complaint against her and all the staff. I have never encountered so much rudeness from staff at the door of a nightclub. I was allowed in with my friend but not my guy friend because they only wanted to let in more women into the club. The staff member lady with long hair and ugly hat Naomi at the door started making fun of us and making rude comments until I complained with her colleague who just stood there and looked at me not knowing what to say because he felt actually embarrassed with her disgusting behaviour. If you behave well and are there waiting to go in you should be treated with respect. But I can see that these people don’t know what it is to have good manners. Will be reporting her.
Probably one of the worst places. The bouncer outside was rude and cocky. Probably had to know him beforehand to enter. For a place that depends on customers it’s the worst experience. I’ve been many times in the past and it’s never been this bad. If you’re on a night out in London head anywhere but here.

I went to this place with a black leather jacket 6000 pounds from Kenzo. When I left late , they gave me back a cheap at the clock room a jacket plastic that looked roughly like mine. When I told them they said it was too late and they will investigate and come back to me the following day. They never called back or reply to my messages. I finally , after calling 10 times, spoke to the manager on the phone. He committed to check the CCTV to see what happened and he never did nor reply to any message. They have no ethics , they consider customers like s…. You should never go to that place .

all our white friends got in right before us without a reservation and when it came to us asian, arab and hispanic, all girls the bouncer took one look at us and told us we needed a reservation or a table to get in…. and then when we asked about “the people before us”, if they had a reservation, they lied and said yes they did. terrible
My experience there was awful! They do not maintain any capacity restriction and that is very serious! I don ‘t want to think about the end result of a failure to follow safety procedures in any emergency situation! People queue up for the toilets, for the bar or for the cloakroom, so nobody can enjoy any service. Anyone could barely move because of the crowd they let in! They try to handle all this crowd resulting in staff being brief and curt! I wonder why they think they offer something so great that worths to be expensive too! This place under these conditions is appalling! I hope they follow capacity restrictions so that their customers are comfortable and able to enjoy their nights!
