Do not go for the carvery.I was visiting family so my dad decided to treat us to Sunday lunch.. never again the beef was so over cooked it crumbled into pieces before it reached the plate as well as turned to powder almost when you put it in your mouth. The turkey was dry to. Veg Very ordinary not much of a selection potatoes not nice and the stuffing balls still had the stuffing mix inside which hadn’t absorb any of the water. Suck a shame as the pub was quite nice and I did enjoy my strawberry cider.
Lovely pub and really nice people serving.! I was a little disappointed in my lunch of a burger, fairly basic compared to some offerings chips were magic.. My partner had sausage, mash and peas and again disappointing. All subjective but it did seem awash with gravy? Having said all this, the wine was nice and we were able to relax in a nice environment.l would certainly visit again and try some of the other selection off the menu and beers.
Great service, lovely staff, delicious food, and lots of surrounding woods to walk through outside for a bit of country air. Beef and ale pie was perhaps the best pie I've ever eaten, if I wasn't so full I'd have had another and would have tried the desserts. Have a lovely afternoon out here, you won't regret it.
Had our Society Xmas meal here yesterday. Overall fantastic, brilliant table setup for us, fabulous staff, great service, great food and drink. However it was a little chilly despite sitting next to the radiator, lucky I had a jumper. No hesitation in recommending The Royal William
I have been here many times over the years. A pleasant atmosphere, nicely decorated. Staff are friendly. There is a limited choice on the menu but accommodates all. Meals are tasty especially the fish and chips!!
Excellent food and lunchtime menu has two meals for £12.00. Fantastic value. They also have an extensive range of delicious specials available. The staff are lovely and very helpful. We will definitely revisit. Highly recommended.
First time at this pub and we'll be back. Excellent food and large portions at a reasonable price. Nice people too with a sense of humour.
The carvery chef had long greasy hair and a dirty hat, yuk, and hes on show to the public, serving my food! had to wait in the queue ages for mediocre food, cold desserts not worth the money..chocate honey combe sundae "@£6.75" made from mainly squirty cream, 1 scoop ice cream, no sauce and a sprinkle of tiny honeycombs balls cheap rubbish Appauling!
Excellent food coupled with a superb selection of real ales and a quite impressive wine selection. We really enjoyed our meals and found the Nook with a fire a very comfortable spot for after dinner. The food was reasonably priced and was brought promptly and cooked to perfection. Can't rate high enough.
Saturday 10th August I had my wedding reception at the royal William and I can't express enough of what a fantastic job you done. Everything went to plan and ran smoothly. You are an amazing team. The children had plenty of space to run around and enjoy themselves. Food was amazing and the staff was always on hand to help. Everyone commented on what a lovely place it was and how the staff was very friendly. Thank you Mr and Mrs Ilott.
