For the mediocre quality of food, it is very pricey. Battered fish seemed to have come from cheap freezer stock.  Service was good.

A proper pub that serves great food, not some pretentious place trying to be something it isn't. The Royal Oak is a warm, comfortable place run by friendly people serving good beer and excellent pub food. All the pub classics you would expect, at very reasonable prices.
