The Royal Oak
"The Royal Oak has been completely transformed to a modern luxurious bar and grill, dedicated to families, sports fans and the casual drinkers. A full selection menu from light bites to dishes created by our great chefs. A giant screen inside with the latest sound system will keep any sports fan more than happy. Our seating is a mix of booths to standalone tables. We are able to cater for private parties, conferences or small get togethers by closing off one half of the pub. It's not just another bar and grill, this is an experience where we have taken everything to a whole new level. Enjoy."

Great Asian bar and grill. Lovely selection of food and drink on offer. Order at the bar and counter. Staff very friendly and the atmosphere for a Saturday evening was good. When the owner can be seen also seating guest, you know he is passionate and takes pride. Would recommend and visit again.
The mixed grill was absolutely worth every bite, delivering a medley of flavors that left a lasting impression. The large screens provided the perfect backdrop for watching football matches, adding to the vibrant and energetic atmosphere. To top it off, the service was impressively quick, making the overall experience even more enjoyable.
The Royal Oak Indian Bar and Grill in Birmingham is a true hidden gem, seamlessly combining the traditional charm of a British pub with the vibrant flavors of authentic Indian cuisine. As soon as you step inside, you’re welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with special praise for the unique Sidhu Moosewala theme that adds a distinct touch. The rustic décor sets the perfect stage for an enjoyable meal or a leisurely drink. The menu shines as the highlight, featuring an extensive range of Indian dishes that appeal to both traditional and adventurous palates. Whether it’s the succulent chicken 65, veg spring rolls, lamb chops, chilly chicken, murg kali mirch, achari chicken tikka ,the perfectly baked butter garlic naan, each dish reflects the chef’s skill and deep passion for Indian culinary traditions. The flavors are bold, well-balanced, and consistently satisfying, making it a must-visit spot for those seeking genuine Indian cuisine. Service at the Royal Oak is top-notch, with attentive staff who are well-versed in the menu and eager to offer recommendations. Whether you’re there for a quick pint or a full dining experience, the level of care and hospitality, especially from the owners Amrik Bhaaji and Pindu Bhaaji, is exceptional—they truly are masters of hospitality. In summary, the Royal Oak Indian Bar and Grill is a standout choice in Birmingham for anyone looking to savor high-quality Indian cuisine in a relaxed and friendly pub setting. It’s a place that makes a lasting impression, and one that you’ll be eager to return to time and time again.
Excellent food and service. Big screens for the sports and huge selection of beer choice. Went for the mixed grill to start and lamb special for main - both were delicious. Best mango chutney in Birmingham too! Highly recommend to visit. Parking: Parking isn’t easy depending on time but plenty of side roads a little walk away
Visited this restaurant with extended family; we ordered drinks, starters, and main dishes. Food was delicious and good portion sizes. Spicy level and flavour varied, which I liked a lot. We had to get our own water glasses and pitcher for our table. We ordered at the bar as well. For a large group, I expected table service from a server/waiter. Clean and modern atmosphere, but more pub-like than Indian restaurant with large screens everywhere and the bar being the central feature in the restaurant. Great if you want to meet up with friends for a drink and curry. Not so great if you want dinner with family. I’m curious about the old farm tractor on top of the awning at the entrance…
Lovely place to eat. I've visited twice for lunch with my partner and we've enjoyed everything we've ordered. We highly recommend the lamb chops and the tandoori prawns. Seasoned well and very tasty. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The waitress was assisting us on items on the menu. We will return again as we were pleased with this restaurant. Only downfall is there is no designated car park.
Visited them after a strong recommendation from a friend. It was worth the effort on our way back to london from holidays. We really liked their grill menu. We ordered both veg & non veg platter, both were mouth watering. Mutton seek kebab and chicken hariyali was outstanding. I missed the biryani because platter portion was too big. Will try the main course next time.
A large well laid out Indian pub grill with a "classic" Punjabi pub grub. Good variety for both meat lovers and veggies. Good decor and spacious seating all around. Huge, and I mean huge screen, so a perfect place for sports. Lots of TVs all around the central bar and restaurant. But there is one mega screen which allows anyone from many angles across the front to watch and enjoy sport. Lots of choice of beer and spirits. Good service and food well presented.
The Royal Oak in Handsworth, Birmingham just before the wba ground Lamb Rara, Chicken saag, masala chips, raita and roti to share - £29 This place is priced a little higher than most your Birmingham mixed grills but the curries are full of flavour and so well cooked! Would highly recommend for a curry as feel it is excellent value considering how tasty the food is. I would expect this more at a proper restaurant than a pub! #Rinviews #RineshRatings 9/10
This is a spacious Punjabi pub and offers a family-friendly eating out experience. Our party of 6 walked in for dinner on a Sunday and they easily found a table for us. The ambiance is infused with the musical legacy of Siddhu Moosewala whose theme is big in the interior as it is on the exterior of the pub. There are plenty of options for both vegetarian and meat lovers. In fact, I think the veggies selection is the most varied I’ve seen in pubs around this area. Service is good and fast. The food tastes nice and it is close to an authentic experience of the Punjabi cuisine. The corn & cashew rolls were the best of the starters that we tried and the chana masala was my favorite main curry. Pricing is reasonable. I really liked the function hall’s décor, which is located at the end of the main dining area and will definitely consider booking it for a party. Vegetarian options: Corn and cashew rolls, spring rolls, paneer tikka, tandoori roast mushrooms, chana masala, bhindi do pyaza, veg cofta curry, paneer karahi, dal makhani
