Nice, cosy pub inside. Owner refurbishing interior. Completed bar/dining area and toilets. Restaurant area now being refurbished. All in nice, practical, easy to keep clean materials. Completing inside before outside. Meals all home made with and good selecton on the menu. Excellent wholesome food. Our party cleared every plateful. My wife an I enjoyed the homemade soup, and the Cheese and Onion pie. I had the soup and Steak Pie. Good pots of Yorkshire tea. No signs outside till refurbished, so could miss the pub, so look at photo"s. Just on outskirts of Portsmouth on Burnley Road from Burnley, or towards Burnley from Tosmorden. This written by visitor, not the pub owner. Visited on previous occasions in past. Last visit on 1st Jan. 2018

We dinned here today as a family of 4 and what a reception, as soon as we walked through the door a fire was lit for us and the staff were so freindly and engaging straight away. The place itself is lovely and cosy. The food is well priced and tastes great. The ox tail soup was outstanding and just what this weather calls for. Thankyou for a lovely time

Drinks are warm never tried the food, most of the pub is closed wouldn't recommend it at all, if I could rate it no stars I would

Very friendly, warm welcome and cosy atmosphere with wood burning stove. Will definitely be going back.
