Wonderful restaurant. Superb food. Stylish. Excellent atmosphere. Great service. Can sit and have a cup of tea or a splash out meal. Something for everyone both in terms of selection as well as price. First place I ate when I arrived in Tod and I received a warm welcome. Now it's my home away from home. Highly recommended!
Really nice vegetarian menu, thoughtfully created and presented. The tarts are always a delight and the forays into eastern dishes combined with more familiar salads and accompaniments are well done and tasty, always check the specials board before your sit down with the menu. Prices are reasonable and the coffee is superb, well done guys, proper barista skills and good beans. The environment is busy and bustling which does not detract though on a hot summer's day I would avoid the window seats as it can get very warm. The staff are bouncy, attentive and friendly, customer focussed and always helpful. I cycle through Tod a lot and would use Blackbird more if only I could leave or lock my bike up safely.
It is worth going out of your way to visit. Their food is stunning, they serve great cocktails and it's a family run local business. We are spoilt foodies from London and frequently go to Michelin star places and were very pleasantly surprised by Blackbird. The place did not lack in style, atmosphere, service or quality eventhough they had an unexpectedly high turn out. Really recommend!
Best restaurant in Tod. Small, stylish. Excellent food. Perfect cocktails, good wine list. Around £30 a head for a night with several drinks.
Being banned for giving a poor review for The Bear is childish and conveys the attitude of the owner of both businesses. Instead of trying to address the issue of a regular customer, I was greeted with bile and defamatory statements that were made both to my friends in private messages and publicly on the owners Twitter page. I don't think I have ever come across anyone as rude and bullish as these individuals and I will not be intimidated into giving you a good review either! If I could give zero stars I would, at least I can say you get a star for responding to my initial review.
My husband surprised me with a weekend away with friends to Todmorden for my 50th birthday and he chose the Blackbird for the meal through reading the reviews and I have to say it was the perfect choice .Everything was absolutely amazing I couldn't recommend it enough .
Great food and atmosphere. Nice cocktails and coffee - management have done an excellent job!
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and tasty food BUT very small portions which did not fill me up at all and the prices are ridiculous!
Great for tapas-y style dishes that taste great. The service and drinks are good too
