I have eaten at the Bistro several times and I have yet to be disappointed. 

What you get is very good bistro food  (as opposed to fine dining). A typical 2 course meal (main with either starter or desert) costs around £20 - less if you take advantage of their 'early bird' or weekend offers.
 
The menu has a good range of choices (8-10 mains and similar numbers for starters/deserts) without being ridiculously over-crammed with dishes.  

The decor is bright and modern and the atmosphere is relaxed without being sloppy.  The staff are attentive and efficient, although there can be a wait of 30-40 minutes when it is particularly busy.

All things considered I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Bistro to anyone who wants a step-up from typical pub grub but doesn't want to pay the sort of silly prices commanded by most fine dining establishments.
